Just joined TRF and ordered my first Rolex

Just ordered a new DJ2 fluted blue index dial from David's after seeing all the great feedback about him on this forum. Looking forward to picking it up in January on a business trip to the US.

Also, caught the bug way too quickly and am already thinking about replacing my Seamaster (casual watch) for a DSSD. I'm 6'1" and have big wrists (need an extra link on a brand new Rolex) so I like the DSSD (hate the writing indicating the valve & ringlock). I don't want to buy any other brand because I need a watch that can take a beating, love how Rolex barely depreciates and I can turn it into cash anywhere in the world I might be; not to mention the history, reliability, conservative styling.

Congrats and welcome! Don't worry about the DSSD writing. It's less obvious than it looks in pictures.

speaking of the writing on the DSSD, is there any way to get rid of it easily, without ruining the watch, does anyone know?

Sounds like you understand our passion for Rolex!
Like you, I also dislike the writing on the DSSD. Not that it matters, it's too big for me anyway!

You can't go wrong with any stainless steel Rolex sports watch. Superb build quailty, timeless design and solid residuals. Enjoy!

Well done on joining the clan, by the way there are plenty of Omega supporters here so if you like your Seamaster you can always keep it, a cool classic. A standard Sub will look fine on big wrists as well or a fifty fathoms etc etc etc etc, rest assured ask and we will all provide suggestions.

Welcome and i hope you enjoy the new watch, it sounds absolutely fantastic. I too am new to TRF, i really want a DJ2 fluted blue bezel WG. Already saving for one!

Question guys, what is the best way to get one for the best price outside of the US? I live in London, UK. I got a Subc 116610LN and got the tax back ;P but i think there are ways to get it cheaper!

Submariner 116610LN.

I plan on keeping the Semester but, the Seamaster is as small a I'll go. 40mm is too small for me. I travel a lot so a GMT would be perfect but, it's too small. It's fine under a suit because the double cuff doesn't get caught as it flows up and down my wits but, I have the DJ2 for that.
