Is this a real Datejust or FAKE? Experts please help
Hey guys, just looking for some help with a potential purchase here needing to know if this is genuine or fake, the condition of the watch is obviously bad but it looks fixable. the listing seems a little dodgy. Be sure to check out the pictures.
heres what he says about it: "This Auction is for a ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST 18K DIAMOND DIAL WATCH. This watch needs a good professional clean as it looks to have been worn a lot or put in some place with a lot of gryme, also has some scuffs on the glass that would need to be buffed out and the winder knob has fell off and will need to be replaced. I took this to a jeweler and he said he believes this to be the real deal but it will need over $1000 spent on it to get it cleaned and fully serviced, buff out the scuff marks on the glass and the winder knob is around $700 to replace on its own as they are made from gold. I cant afford to do this so I'm selling it as is. The jeweler also told me that once its all fixed it a $7000-$8000 watch and it has all the markings of a Rolex. I'm looking for a quick sale as Christmas is coming up and would love to go on a vacation and pay some bills. I was going to save up and get it fixed myself but cant manage to get enough money together so its up for grabs. I cant guarantee it is 100% Rolex but from what the jeweler told me it is. that is why I have done such a low reserve. AS IS condition. I would not list this If I believed it to be fake." thank you all for your time. |

Huh? Are you the seller or what. Many inconsistencies to take this seriously.

Anytime someone has to tell a big story to sell a watch, and also tell everyone how he'd never sell a fake, it is a fake. You don't even need to look at the pictures.

You can't "buff out scratches" on the crystal unless it's a plexi, and that's obviously not. Either this is a tall tale, or your jeweler knows nothing about watches

Awful pics for late 2017, an immediate sign of deception and from what can be seen the gold colour of the bezel is a mismatch to the gold on the bracelet. Another bad sign.
