Tudor Style

I wouldn’t call the discontinued Tudor Style a watch that generated much hype. I believe it was quietly introduced and just as silently killed off. Introduced in 2015 and passed in 2022 or 2023. So long Style…

The Style was, more or less a homage to the big brother Rolex Datejust but costing thousands less. I seem to recall that paid under $2,000 for my burgundy dialed, fluted Style. I thought, and still do, that for the price point, it offered a lot of value. Granted, an ETA movement, but with a brilliant, lacquered dial with multiple faceted hands and hour markers, with two tone polished / brushed bracelet along with the options of a smooth or fluted bezel. The watch definitely reflects the light when it’s on your wrist.

As with it’s big brother, it is a date model. To me, that is the biggest miss on this watch. The size of the date window and font seem to me to be an afterthought. I’m not a fan of the cyclops, but a slightly larger date window would have worked better. No lume on that dial at all. Lume on the hands would have been nice. Otherwise, it’s a damn near perfect Tudor and it still gives me a lot of joy to wear it.

So long Tudor Style, we hardly knew you…

Same founder, same ownership, different companies.
