40mm is large for a dress piece. There's too much dial real estate due to the thin bezel, much of it empty. 38mm would suit this piece much better and could still accommodate the open heart.
To answer your question, I don't think your wrist is too small for a 40mm watch but the proportions of this piece are just out of whack. It looks unbalanced. |
