Skx007 bezel “click”

I recently reacquired my old Seiko skx007.

Unfortunately, I quickly realized that the bezel wasn’t rotating and clicking like it used to.

I removed the bezel, cleaned under it...

That helped but it still wasn’t 100%

I installed a new bezel spring.

That helped a lot, but the bezel was still hard to turn.

After messaging Bas and Dan Pierce, I went ahead and followed their advice and bought silicone grease so that I could lubricate my bezel gasket.

Having done that, I feel that the bezel is operating nicely and smoothly once again

Just wanted to thank Bas and Dan for sharing their knowledge with the forum like they always do

The pad is actually pretty nifty. I was contemplating ordering silicone grease without the pad, but went for the pad because I was advised to, and I am happy I did!

I feel like it made a sticky job a lot easier.

Those pads make applying silicone to gaskets a breeze.

Yeah, what’s up with the ladies’ size quip? My Skx fits fine! It’s no Panerai 47mm, but it’s in the range of normal.

Me neither.

Eh, different strokes for different folks I guess.

I recently learned on here that 34mm watches were given to soldiers back in the day... so to me, a 34mm watch isn't a ladies size either, although I am sure a lady can rock one as well as a gentleman

My skx was my first dive watch. I feel that it looks great and is very comfortable, specially on the jubilee bracelet (which I have read that some people quickly replace for a better one!)

I've been wearing the same model SKX for the past 2 weeks. I never seem to use the bezel but its always good to know that it works properly.

Its great to share information. I'd like to mod my SKX007 and I hope to get around to that one day with a new bezel insert (pre-aged) and a new hacking movement and a single bubble sapphire crystal with a coin edge bezel....

Steve, you will love those upgrades. Those small details really add to the overall package. Just sold a 007 insert that I aged. Would have been perfect and would been happy to donate to your project.
