Purchased an Anniversary Sub last weekend
Hey board,
The addiction continues. I purchased my first Rolex (Submariner date) on Jan 1st 2006. I had always wanted a submariner but I didn't think that over the next year all I could think about was my next purchase. I thought I would be happy far at least 5 years but no, the addiction continues. I hate to say that it might be redundant but I love and bought last weekend an anniversary submariner at a local AD in San Francisco. I just love “Kermit”. So my question to the board: With 2 submariners what’s next? I am thinking a Daytona? Where would you go from here? Also I want a dress leather banded Rolex, what would you suggest? Thanks, Shawn |

Yesterday saw a sliver dialed SS(or white gold?) DJ with engineer bezel with luminous white stick hour markers on a brown leather strap. Beautiful, classic, and sporty looking. Very nice. I would get one of those!
For another watch, I would consider my favorite, the Exp II. Slimmer case than the Sub, slimmer clasp, 24 hour seperate time function, and fixed bezel, and has a date feature (unlike the Daytona). Congrads on the Sub LV! |

Welcome to Club LV! Did you have a hard time finding one or did you just go into the AD cold and there it was?

I called around my local AD's and only one had it. I have been trying to establish a relationship with him and he knows that I will be coming back for more. He was really nice and said "I reserve these pieces for my long time clients but I would like your future repeat business so we should start off on the right foot. Come and get it!"
He charged MSRP only. I did not try to budge him. I figured it was fair. About an hour after I bought it I got another call from an AD I called earlier saying that he would sell me the one he has in the safe. I am wondering if I should buy it and store it? Don't think I really need 2 LV's but ??????? |

Spencer- My Black Sub in the no date, otherwise I'm a member of yr. club too.
I bought my LV recently when my AD called out of the blue and said they've got one in, say yes or no. Of course I sd. yes. I love the Kermit. The green bezel in person is way more incredible than you can see in any photo. It is simply the most beautiful green I've ever seen. It changes with the light, going from bright to deep sea-green to almost black. This watch is endlessly fascinating and wonderful, I don't get tired of just sitting and turning it in my hand and looking at the bezel change shades. Anyway, congratulations. Larry |

Many congratulations on an excellent purchase.
I've recently acquired a white dial Explorer 2, my first thought when it was on my wrist is that I should have bought it years ago. Spencer, love the shot of your Three Amigos |

Congrats on the LV purchase. I have an LV and dream of a two tone DJ with new jubilee bracelet or SS daytona with white dial. If I was (big "if") to take the plunge, I would probably get the DJ since I already own a SS highly polished Breitling chrono with mother of pearl dial.

Welcome to TRF, Shawn.
Nice collection....now would you like to consider a TT BLUE SUB since you seem quite fond of them?

Thanks for all the support and suggestions
I actually want to go for a leather strapped Cellini line watch next and am fond of the Danaos, black face, black strap, tick marks. That watch is very beautiful. Any thoughts? |
