You never know, perhaps there are specific sellers looking to sell for various circumstances. Grey's are buying used ones for $22-$25 depending on conditions. If you catch the right person who needs to unload - and perhaps there's no box or paper, you can get close to $22-$23K.

Like DMASH said, perhaps wait another 3-6 months, and use the time to save more grand - you may be able to do it.

Nahh. Those days are over! Unworn or LNIB are already under 30k. Just look in the for sale section here! Sellers are also stuck with a lot of 116618LB and 116618LN. Prices on those are dropping too.

That was the market price around 2015, but not currently unless you find a seller that needs cash quick.

I didn't suggest brand new. I meant used and honestly I don't see allot of people buying expensive watches in the next few months , and sad to say allot of people might need extra cash. I think I might be able to grab a nice condition used one for 20k ( fingers crossed )

Basically, if you have the cash on hand and find someone that needs the $$ imminently. You might get lucky, but even then its doubtful. Even in the current uncertain times people aren't going to leave thousands on the table unless all other options have been exercised.

I have been looking at prices of 228238 for a while, since I can't decide whether I feel ready for Precious Metals or not (way too clumsy and hitting my watches into anything...), but I think the lowest I have seen around are $27,800-$28,500 for a used by a trusted seller (sometimes, not all the times) and $30,300 - $31,975 for brand new...

I peruse the for sale section here almost daily. Have not seen BNIB Day Date 40 for under 30K.

Send out a few emails to the reputable sellers and see what they can do!

If you don't seek, you may never find! Don't just expect a DD40 to land in your lap by magic!
