I'm no expert but I believe the 18108 meant it had the "bark finish"

(see: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=221567 for an example of what it looks like)

I'm going with bogus... The fact that he gave you that as a description looks like he copied it straight from http://www.grayandsons.com/product/20986/8

"Champaign Diamond" Dial? Where are the diamonds?

Anyone with expertise in this area please step in and correct me if I'm wrong but I'm seeing:
  • Incorrect model number corresponding the watch
  • No diamonds on the "Champaign Diamond" Dial.
  • Offset "Made" in the "Swiss Made".
  • 1990 President bands did not have a clasp resembling that at all.
  • 1990 Rolex did not have bezel that thick with that much incline. It looks like it's intended to emulate the modern Rolex look.
  • Watch face looks too small (as does the watch itself).
  • Crown too thick.
  • Appears to have... polish... or plating missing from between the centerlinks in one of the photos.

Magnification surprisingly looks close to correct.

Reference here, http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/rol...8-a-58648.html for what a typical 1990 Day-Date should look like.
