Any 1908 incomings

I’ve yet to see any 1908’s on display
Has anyone seen one in the metal or better still taken delivery of one?

Saw them at an event. They’re nice. Would probably go with another watchmaker for this type of watch though + price.

Not my favorite and at that price point I could do much better from other historical brands that actually do strap watches as mainstay of the business.

They should be a good deal on the used or grey market in the future. I’m one of the few who actually liked Cellini.

I never understood the Cellini hate. Sure it wasn’t exactly their forte for the last 20-30 years but it was still a really nice looking watch

(shaking an old thread awake)

Do dealers consider the 1908 difficult to move? In other words, is purchase a YG white face 1908 the equivalent of buying a ladies two tone as an incentive to locate a high demand piece?

I'd actually wear it the few times per year I dress up, so it would not be wasted.

Very nice! Such a classic and elegant look. Congratulations. I'm really liking this new 1908 line over the older Cellinis.

Pretty cool watch. Clear caseback finally. Price point is right where the old calatrava used to be. Only thing is lack of oem straps for a piece like this.

I was really anxious to see one on my wrist and got a chance last week. The Black face/white gold as pictured above.

I love the watch, but not at that price point. I’m in the market for a classic dress watch and really wanted it to be a 1908, but now we’re in Calatrava Lange 1815/UD territory…will be interesting to see if they release variations in April…still a lovely watch though…

I'm in love with the yellow gold/black dial version, but yet to see one in person. The AD I visited recently (to ask about something else) said they'd only had one in stock at all since they were released, and made out that there aren't too many of them available, although obviously difficult to get the overall picture from just one AD's experience.

They’re appearing in shop windows across the UK. I’ve seen two. Not that impressed if I’m honest..

I saw one at my AD. It is a very substantial watch much more so than say a Patek or VC dress watch.

Like who? You looked at what Patek is charging for their basic 3 hand auto wind Calatrava these days? The 1908 is half the money plus comes with a deployant clasp.

Jlc is similarly priced to the Rolex but with horrible resale value.

VC and Lange are substantially more expensive although not as bad as patek. Also with poor resale

I haven’t seen one, but Breguet and ALS make some substantial dress watches with more precious watchmaking.

This seems to be a line with more consumer interest than Cellini so its already a success for them in my book.

A Breguet (with retrograde seconds) is my dream dress watch. Ahh one day. That said, the 1908 is very pretty and IMO an improvement over the Cellini.

Yes, great looking watch. Love the yellow gold with the white dial.

Very tempted on that one.

Love the open caseback but dials of the blue date Cellini were more interesting and beautiful than current 1908 offerings.

If you’re spending 20k 30k doesn’t make a great deal of difference in my opinion :)

Lange personally is what I would go with however I’m yet to make the move on a dress watch.
