New Incoming.........Landed!

Just acquired this 40mm Explorer 1, 224270. It flies under the radar but is still elegant enough. I have had many Rolex watches with the Oyster bracelet but this is the most comfortable of them all. Perhaps it is due to the case lying a little flatter on the wrist. The blue lume is kind of cool. I finally like the size, I think it is a perfect size for my wrist. The weight is also on the lighter side and sometimes I have to look down and make sure the watch is still on my wrist. I like the double clasp feature for that safety and security of the watch. Will be wearing it this weekend, perhaps to even wash the car.

Congratulations on your new Explorer I! The 224270 is indeed a subtle yet elegant choice. I agree, the flat fit on the wrist and the blue luminescence are standout features. Enjoy wearing it, especially with the comfort and security it offers. Sounds like a great companion for your weekend plans!

Very nice Bill, congratulations

This is one I’ve often thought of adding. Is the dial gloss black or more of a satin finish?

I just received mine as well. It’s the most comfortable out of my collection. I actually prefer a chunky watch, something with a noticeable weight. The explorer checks off boxes I didn’t know I had. The low profile being one of them

Great Watch. I’ve have the 39mm MK II. It’s my everyday beater watch and wears so comfortable.
