FS: MKII Key West Gilt Pepsi

Hi all, rare bird for sale here. This is the MK II Key West, arguably the best vintage Rolex GMT-Master homage out there. Just 399 of these were made in total across all colorways, and this one features a Pepsi aluminum bezel and gilt dial. This is also a real gilt dial made like watches in the mid-century, something almost no one does anymore and which shows MK II’s commitment to doing things the right way. It’s stunning in person. These watches are hard to come by, and I’m the third owner of this one. I’ve only had it a few weeks, but just haven’t connected with it like I thought I would (tale as old as time), so it’s got to go.

The watch runs excellently and received a full service by MK II in October 2022, which included the installation of a new bezel insert (the original was faded with chemicals by the first owner). The bezel was misaligned when I received the watch, and I sent it to MK II to get straightened out and is now perfect.

Case is 39mm across, 14.5mm thick, and around 47mm lug to lug with a 20mm lug width. Riveted oyster-style bracelet has a great taper down the flip-lock clasp. 48-click bezel, nicely domed sapphire crystal with underside AR, drilled lugs, blue-glowing BGW9 lume on all hands and indices, signed screw-down crown, and 200m water resistance. Movement is a Swiss-made ETA 2893-2 automatic GMT. The watch is beautifully finished with a cool engraved caseback showing a plane streaking across the sky. Shows some normal scratching for a five-year-old watch, but nothing too egregious — the caseback shows the most scratches.

Sale includes original box, papers, all service records, all bracelet links, and MK II spring bar tool. Looking for $1,700 OBO shipped conus. Not looking to trade unless you’ve got a Grand Seiko SBGN005. Also selling a Tudor Mini-Sub in my other listing. Never sold here before but plenty of references on Reddit by request. Also happy to FaceTime the watch. Thanks for looking!
