I am trying to help out a friend who traded two Tascarella pool cues (valued together at $5500.00) for a 1964 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Two-Tone 14k Yellow Gold and Stainless Steel watch in very good condition. The watch was stated as all original except for the bracelet that was replaced by Rolex. The owner of the watch said he valued the watch between $6000.00 - $6500.00.

I have my doubts about the value of the watch but I am not an expert. Can any one assist or have any ideal what may be the dollar value of the watch I just described? Thanks in advance...

Come on be honest . . . . . you want to trade the cues for 2 Rolex . . . . ;-)

I don't play pool . . . so I would say (depending on the condition) go ahead . . . if he gives you also $ 1000.00 to $ 1500.00 cash . . .

Your friend values his watch way more than the market value a 50 year old Oyster Datejust could possibly bring..

I'd put the real world value of the watch closer to $3k if in very good condition.

Providing the real world value of the cues are the same then it's a decent trade as long as you like expensive pool cues.

Yeah Two Tone...depending on condition could be $1500 or more if it is PRISTINE, ALL ORIGINAL and has B & P?

6k? No way.

I'm still trying to work out where you got two Rolex watches from?

I see it as $1800 for the Rolex + cash to the value of the two pool cues but I am a bit comfused now.

Just to clarify...my friend traded two (s) custom Tascarella pool cues for one (1) 1964 Datejust in very good condition (bracelet not original...Rolex replacement). The man who had the watch valued it in the 6K range.

I believe my friend got the short end of the deal on this one.

Sorry, I believe you misread my thread. Two custom cues (Tascarellas) for one 1964 Datejust.

This is not me as I own one 1968 Rolex Sub 5512 and don't need another Rolex.

oops misread, sorry

i read this Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Two-Tone 14k Yellow Gold and in my mind seperated the and stainless steel watch, on the next line. if i describe a watch as two tone i do not explain its gold and stainless usually, just two tone. my mistake sorry, only 2000-2500k then for one.

Really old somehow I caught it and decided to post cause it's relevant for anyone following, any who other than the hands tarnished and a little discoloration in dial and some stretch in the band it's pretty darn immaculate I suppose not mint but for 50 years old pretty well preserved

Well, in great condition as it is, I wouldn't even describe my 1964 Air-King as Mint or Immaculate.
