Icon12 Tudor Submariner 79090... Blueberry!

They didn't make these... or did they?

No, they didn't... but I did!

Had this insert on my blue 9411 but it's too late, smooth, new, etc.

Was bored after returning from holiday and decided to have a play!

I'll probably sell it auction for billions in 2050!

And a blue dial ;)

The insert is genuine, albeit I think it may be a 79190.

Hi Dom you are absolutely right of course about the blue dial, forgot that the Blueberry only has the standard black. Mine came with box and papers and is definitely a 79090 with the T-Swiss-T dial rather than the T Swiss made.
I have you to thank for getting into Tudor’s yours are fine examples 👍

Thank you - Yours is lovely! I keep meaning to buy my T-Subs in blue... and end up with black ones! Looks like you picked up a great example! Congrats!

I really need to track down a 'better' blue 7021/9411/94110 and a mint, blue 76100/79090 would be magic! I still think the 5-digit T-Subs are under-appreciated vs their Rolex cousins!

I agree - lots of talk about the comparative merits of the clean dial 14060 2 liner V 14060m (arguably) cluttered 4 liner in lots of posts on this forum. But get a Tudor sub they are all 2 liners (from around 7016? till the end of production some with a date and an alternative blue colour scheme as a cheeky bonus!
I love my classic Tudor’s more than my 5 digit Rolex’s tbh👍

Thanks Marty! Did you update me on that 'special' watch you were chasing? Sorry, memory is not what it used to be!

In many ways the 5-digit Tudor was a continuation of the 4-digit Rolex... until the 79190, when it kind of caught up with the 16610, bar the insert. To that end; you can basically get a newer and better condition (ok, ETA movement) 1680 into the 90s from Tudor... at half (or less) the money... and the blue is definitely a bonus! Who doesn't love a 1680?

14060 was my first Rolex... also the first I sold! It's the only one I don't regret! Not sure why but whilst the clean dial echoed the 5513 (which I love), WGS, gloss, sapphire, etc. just weren't working for me on a non-date. Can't put my finger on it but... matte dial FTW!
