International Rolex Prices
I made a web site containing international Rolex prices: Compare international list prices of Rolex watches at planetaryprice.com
The site contains all current Rolex (this is about 2500) models in 21 markets, and prices can be converted to a range of currencies. The prices listed are Rolex MSRP as stated on their website. If you want to leave any positive or negative feedback in this thread, I would be most grateful. For example - Is the site's information useful? - Are there any errors? - How can it be improved? (Usability issues? Tax rates? Alerts?) For me, who recently bought my first Rolex, a site like this would have helped me to research prices. I found some useful international prices here on TRF but thought I could improve on this great idea. Personally, I wanted a new watch from a AD to get full guarantee, and I do travel now and then, so buying in a different country could be an option. Many thanks in advance! |

Hi Jacob, this is great! I need some time to play some more with the website, but one quick suggestion is: instead of having to type in the reference number, how about a drop down type selection? Filter criteria (Brand, Model, Reference, etc). Historical (i.e. 14060), would it be possible to get the exchange rates for country against the USD? Anyway, just some quick thoughts. I've bookmarked and will most certainly be referring to this more.

Hi @jw0n, thanks for feedback! I know it is a bit odd to use Rolex references. I found that being the most precise way of identifying a certain watch without being ambiguous.
There are 2579 current Rolex models. I suspect it would be overwhelming as a dropdown. There is however a crude search built in, try 'submariner' or 'daytona'. Historical models I cannot do, but it would be possible to do this going forward as data is accumulated. |

Rolex lists suggested retail prices, SRP. These are quoted without sales tax/VAT in Canada and USA, and with local sales tax in other countries. This makes for an apple to oranges comparison.
Which one is a better default? Display SRP prices as listed by Rolex (current) Display net prices, without sales tax Display gross prices, assuming for example 12% typical tax for Canada and 8.5% for the US. |

Perhaps lump in Submariner with all the various references, or first filter as model, then second filter as reference? Does that make sense?
With regards to prices- I think net price without tax would make more sense; but this is only my opinion. Not every country have the same amount of sales tax, so would make it difficult to gauge. |

Amazing site!
How is it possible that a watch in Canada is cheaper than in Switzerland itself??? /edit: ah it's without tax. |

I'm actually surprised that Australia has the lowest prices when the GST is factored in .

Either list everything without tax, or list everything with the local tax. |

Also, this wording is quite demanding and needs to be changed
"Before you make any decisions you'd better call a local Rolex dealer to make sure price and availability." i'd change that to "Prior to any purchase, please contact your local Rolex authorized dealer to ensure pricing accuracy and availability". |

The sales tax in Canada varies considerably across provinces.
Newfoundland: 15% Ontario: 13% BC: 12% Alberta: 5% So it makes a significant difference buying a Rolex in Calgary (5%) vs. Toronto (13%).

There's too much variability with tax rates (even within countries, as sjg22 pointed out and you point out with USA) to try and create an accurate calculator taking this into account. |

Trust me...we have our own tax. With the exception of Alberta at 5% (to my knowledge), the rest of Canada has 13% (at minimum) for HST. My $10,200 CAD paid for my BLNR came to $11,526 CAD. Whatever that converts currency-wise to for you is one thing, but there may be a significant difference to paying CAD plus Cdn taxes, and requesting a refund and paying your nation's own tariffs. The difference may be even worth a trip to Canada

Nice work. It's a helpful tool! Does Switzerland have VAT included?

Planning to visit Edmonton in mid August. Looking to buy a 126331. Currently its $12,400 in US. What would be the best way to purchase this when I'm visiting? I appreciate any help. I went to the AD at West Edmonton mall a couple years ago and they were very friendly and even offered to ship the box back for me on a BLNR, although I can't recall if they wanted to ship the watch back as well or not.

Great resource for a quick comparison. From the comments it looks like it's not final but it is still useful. Thank you
