16610 LV with lug holes?
Was the Rolex Sub 16610 LV ever produced with lug holes?
I have seen a Y serial 2002 without and wondered if they were all like that |

As far as I'm aware, no they did not. Without a doubt PADI will be along in a min and give you a more in depth answer.

Not quite true it was in the Basel press release pictures but none were ever released for retail sale so don't believe the many internet myths.

A fabled creature, on a par with the legendary Oozlum Bird, after much searching you think you’ve finally caught one but look what happens when you creep up on them ,

Answer to your question: No. As Peter said only a press release no such watch ever released. The first Y series one released in 03' had no lug holes.

AFAIK the reason they used a lughole version in the press release to screw up the fakers

Agreed. I saw the very first LV to land in Canada according to the Rolex rep at the store and it had no lug holes
The very first fakes had Lug holes - that was the giveaway |

The pic at VRF is mine and I have seen the watch in the display. There have never been one for sale because between
the Basel show and the release of the 16610LV so did the lug hole straight thru the case disappear.

I know this is an old thread but it should be corrected. The very first run of the new 16610LV was six watches (aprox late 2002) now known as mk0. They had lug holes. They went to the Rolex executives. . So there’s a few out there. The mk1 when it was made had no lug holes. And for everyone wondering yes it’s the exact same case and bracelet as the 16610 from the same era. There was a lot of franken LV’s sold 10 years ago. People would take a genuine maxy dials and a green bezel instert and double the value of their watch. But without the LV paperwork tied to the serial number, it’s just really a 16610 with a dial and bezel swap.

For all the ones saying it never existed.
16610LV with lug holes at Baselworld 2003. It might be a prototype that has never been sold in the market but it has definitely existed. |
