Can you trust verification services?

Can you trust verification services?

if joebloggs.com says its a genuine watch can he be believed?


How can i know which verification service I can trust ?

Simple answer if you buy the seller and buy from a reliable source, then in most all cases there would be no need of any verification service.

Err on the side of caution. If there is any doubt, I would go to an AD or RSC. There are some crazy good fakes out there.

Buy safe and don’t look for a rock bottom price from joe blogs.

Buy the seller, verify the watch yourself in as far as you are able, and if you still want reassurance, take it to an AD or put it in for a service.

99% of this is buying the seller. If you have a doubt there is no doubt. Why risk it?

There are some well regarded sellers in the UK, some of whom price fairly. If someone is selling a watch for significantly below what the UK grey market is asking, personally I wouldn't bother. At the very least, it will be a waste of time.

I wouldn't trust most AD clerks to be able to spot a fake. RSC only, or a trusted watchmaker.
