Is the date on your watch supposed to flip to the next date at exactly mid night?

My new SubC, turned to the 8th and exactly 12:04 AM instead of at exactly 12:00 AM. Is something wrong with my watch? Thanks

It's normal for the date to change a few minutes before or after midnight.

They’re all slightly different and yours is fine.

My Panerais take about twenty minutes to completely change. If you want something to change immediately at midnight on the dot, get a G-Shock.

It has to do with the watch maker and how the positioned the hands. Mine does change within a minute of 1200.

No big deal. Just enjoy and sleep.

It is suppose to as per the almighty- Rolex. But sadly it doesn't! They use an old technology, you cannot expect perfection from them or any other mechanical watches. It annoyed me a lot too!

You will get over it.

There is nothing wrong with watch the date change is a mechanical process its not like flicking a electrical switch.

Quite some people here have theirs switch at 12:04...

Have you had it serviced at RSC recently? Had mine serviced last Sept and it's been 12:04 ever since. I can't remember what it was pre-RSC though.

Mine’s 12:02. As long as it’s within a few minutes, you’re all good.

This is one of the few disappointments with many higher tier watches.

When the watchmaker assembles the watches, with a little care they can set the movement to "turn or switch" at a more precise moment - like midnight.
