New Datejust Questions!
I knew it would be a year before I could save enough for my next Rolex so I stopped torturing myself and got off the site for a while. I am planning on a two tone Datejust 116233 champagne dial. Just went to the Rolex site fire the first time in a while to find theirs a new model coming. UGH. I knew I shouldn't have taken a break!
What will that do to prices of existing stock? Can't even find a classic 2 tone on the site any more Thoughts? Is the new one that much better? More expensive is my guess? Can I even get a new old style from an AD? HELP!

MSRP difference between "old" 116233 and "new" 126233 is 200us$ on Oyster and 300us$ on Jubilee ... Not a big deal for a 10k$ watch. The new one have the new movment 3235 wit its 70h power reserve (instead of 48h). The case shape is not really different. I would go for the new one, when it becomes available that should occur soon. |

It seems you won't have the concealed crown clasp with the new one. And a very limited dial choice if you dislike diamonds. On the other hand, improved movement and sunburst black dial.

I love the concealed clasp and continuity of the jubilee on the previous version. I'd pick that one up while you still can. Power reserve is much less of an issue for me.

I too had been saving for years and when i saw the Basel 36mm and the Oyster clasp, well i was skeptical. I did my research and decided to go with the new Caliber. I have now had my new 126233 for two months now and i have to say that the ability to extend the braclet by 5mm at anytime has been really really nice. I have used it a few times now and it totallly makes up for the hidden clasp. Plus the micro adjustments let you set the perfect fit size. I cant say enough good things about my 126233. It keeps perfect time and i have been tracking it.

If anything you should be thanking yourself for catching the super jubilee before it's gone. I would definitely opt for the older one, save cash and still end up with the super jubilee. It's a no brainer for me.
