Unfair choise

Hello guys.

Im new here and i seriously need some help.
Sold my DSSD and the BB is about to be gone. I want 1 watch that goes with everything. Since im not loaded, its gonna be a watch for many years and to every occasion.

1: 116613LB
2: 126600 SD43

My wrist is 7.2 inch and i hope i have uploaded a picture, of how my BB look on my wrist.
Pictures of both, on similar wrist are welcomed.

May not seem that way, but to me it is a big choise and not an easy one.
Thanks

You sold your deep sea. Why to get a sea dweller? It is a bit smaller, but about the same. Downsize to my watch (Sun ND) and you will have no seller's remorse. The TT is not very versatile and of course costs $$.

Get the 116613LB and wear it forever. The Bluesy is one of the best looking watches made.

LB - it just never gets old. It’s like a super nice pair of Oxford shoes - they both are - and will always be classics stand the test of time.

The SD is great — but as a one and only — overtime the bulkiness can work against it.

Just my .02

As i understand it, the SD43 wears much closer to a sub, than it does DSSD.
That is why i find it a great contender. I could be wrong though?
Im not shure that it wears much bigger than the BB on my picture....

Not a fan of TT 116613LB...
So SD43 is my vote.

SD43 can easily be one and only

Between those 2 models, I personally would go for the 116613LB. I've always liked that model and has been kind of a grail for me. The sunburst blue dial is one of my all time favorite dials too. A 40mm is about as large of watch as I can pull off, so this would be a no brainer if it was myself trying to make the choice.

Looking at the pic of you wearing your BB, it looks like a 41mm works well, but could be your limit? How do you think 2mm more would feel to you? Have you tried an SD43 on yet? If not, I think you probably should give one a test wear just to see.

I’d go with a Bluesy.

Or consider changing your SD choice to a DJ - maybe even a vintage one.

Welcome Thomas

In my books the SD43 is the way to go.

It will fit you like a glove and look perfect on your wrist. If you're already accustomed to wearing a DSSD this one will feel significantly smaller.

It wears nowhere near as large as its size would indicate IMO.

In all honesty, all this "versatile" or "will it look good with a suit" stuff is, to me, a bit silly. Who (the hell) is gonna care if you wear a SubLv with a tux or a short sleeve polo shirt? Certainly, a super-thin Piaget Alpino might seem unusual with a tee shirt and jeans but it might also look really cool to some. Sort of a classy/casual look. It's up to you whether It's a comfortable 'look' or not.

Buy and wear the watch you like and other opinions be damned. And just for the record, here's my grail and everyday watch. Good luck.

Mark

Thanks for all your anwers, and thank you for the welcome :-)

The thing is, when i had the DS i thought it was a great watch. Now im not so sure anymore, that a big watch is as classy and stylish throughout life.
If my bank account was in a different way, a whole collection would be nice.
But it takes a long time for me to save the money for those watches. That is why it´s a big deal to me, and why i have to choose just one.

After looking at my own picture many times, am not that sure that my wrist can cary anything a lot bigger than 41 mm. I´m not sure either, that a SD43 is but a tiny bit bigger.

Ill try another Sub tomorrow. Have to feel sure as it is a watch for the long run.

It does help me to hear what you feel, so thanks!

If you haven’t already, you need to try on the SD43 for size and comfort. My personal opinion on that one is remove the divers extension for more comfort. If you like a watch with a little weight and tough as nails, go SD43. If you like a little flash a little casual, go LB. definitely hard to pair down to one. Good luck to you.

The only way to know for sure, is to try it on. There is a reason you sold your deep sea. And usually people dislike it because of the size. Not the first or second day after the purchase, but in the long term. .. whatever you decide to get, wear it in good health!

Two great watches but I’m really liking 116613 LB for sometime now, and therefore my vote is for the LB. It’s nice to see so much love for the TT. I feel like the TT’s are gaining some in popularity.

Correct. It does wear closer to the Sub. I have a 6.75 inch wrist and my SD43 is my daily.

Although that BB S&G looks fantastic on you with your ink.

Given you have already owned a TT and are still looking at another one, I would go with the Sub. I think it is more versatile as a one and only watch and looks great with anything. Its got a bit of bling but not too much.

Nothing against the SD though. Both are great watches!

You can wear the SD43 on your wrist, and it is more subtle but I prefer the Bluesy as I know I'd get bored of the SD43 as an only one, happened to me on the black sub.

My choice would be the bluesy, all day and every day.

But, to be honest...I think the SD43 would go better with your ink.

For what it’s worth, if you are going to move down to one watch take your time to decide. If it were me, I would go GMT-ss version. Goes with everything nicely with the exception of black tie events, quite water resistant, tough as nails, and two useful complications. The two-tone while great, is not as versatile watch in my estimation as the ss model or the gmt.

As you said it you want 1 watch that goes with everything so definitely i would not go for a TT. Way to much bling and therefore not suited many occasions/environments . Just go for classic black sub or if you need the timezone a black gmt. Cant go wrong with the SD43 as well but the weight of the watch could get uncomfortable for everday/all the time use.
