Trade PepsiC for Full Rose Rootbeer?
Guys, would anyone make this trade?
Pepsi 126710BLRO on Jubilee for full RG 126715CHNR? Pepsi is a retail purchase and CHNR would be around 8k under retail so say roughly 14k to make the change. No other PMs in the collection. 116520 white dial and Tiffany OP currently. Opinions welcome. |

I would not - but I’m not a fan of the Rose Gold. So just an opinion so not sure I’m helping you. Good Luck.

I'd make that deal. Full PM CHNR for essentially 25k.

Deal seems fine. Whether or not it’s worth doing is entirely up to you. Personally, no, I prefer the Pepsi.

It makes sense from a dollar perspective.
Personally I prefer stainless steel sports Rolex to PM |

The deal looks OK but I wouldn't trade my 126710BLRO for anything. I had the TT CHNR and while I always admired its colour palette and mix of textures I didn't get on with RG in the longer term. It just doesn't suit me. This makes me rather biased but if I was looking for say the WG Pepsi I would still keep my SS. You do you.

If you prefer the full RG GMT over yours, then absolutely!

I got both (the Pepsi and full RG) as a pair when they first launched in 2018.
Having the RG I didn’t even use the Pepsi!! I think it’s a good trade. |

Thanks all for your comments - I really do like the look of full RG and and I have a skin tone that can pull of RG.
I feel it's more of a special watch then the Pepsi and I feel you can add a Rubber B to it easily to pair down for more casual wear. As a trade I feel it makes sense as I am maximising the Pepsi trade value (paid £7750 for it so getting double retail) and obtaining a PM piece that is way under retail. Of course I will get burned if I decide to sell in the future but that's only if I decide too. People will say wait until the Pepsi get's discontinued but life is too short to be waiting years for that to possibly happen. |

Was waiting for this reply!! Fantastic picture, do you really not wear your Pepsi much then? I feel the full PM CHNR really doesn't attract as much attention as a full YG piece.

I used to habe a first generation BLNR and when I would wear it I would see what felt like dozens of other people wearing steel GMTs. I try to buck the trend so I let the blnr go and later got a 5CHNR. You don't see many people wearing that watch like you do with the dime a dozen steel oyster cased Rolexs. It's a fantastic watch and I would certainly wear it over a blro.

Go for it, the RG is a stunner, not about the $$$, the RG is more of a watch.
The Pepsi is a classic and nice to have but are everywhere. |

In isolation they are both just perfect watches, but compare them side by side and the RG will always be the one you want to wear.. Additional note - My first ‘big’ watch purchase was a YG GMT and yes the RG is a lot more subtle. I prefer the RG, even though as my first ever gold watch the YG GMT always will be a special watch to me. |

Not going to be a popular opinion but I'd sell the Daytona instead of the BLRO. Pepsi is my favorite SS Rolex

I love the BLRO and I'm pasty white, so I personally wouldn't do it.
BUT Based on your comments OP, it sounds like the right choice. Leverage the appreciation of the BLRO to get a watch you love for under RRP seems like a very fair proposition. I can't wait for pics. I don't see many full PM CHNR's |

No. I just don't think you get the bang for your buck, even only putting 14k into the CHNR. Not to mention, if, for some reason, you decide you want to reverse that trade down the road, you won't get nearly the cash back. Just my two cents.
But, at the end of the day, the only thing that really matters is if you're happy with the watch you have, so...if the CHNR is it, then who are we to dictate your happiness? |
