Difference between SS and 18K
Hello everyone,
Just a random question... Does anybody know why 18K gold Rolex's when brand new, the clasps always seem to be stiff, but very smooth. SS watches are never this way. Is there a particular reason for this? I find it gives the watch a whole more solid feel that way. I like it! Dino

It is just a guess. Since gold is softer than SS the gold clasps are originally set tighter so as the softer gold clasp loosens it does not happen too fast to make the clasp too loose.
