Did Rolex Submariner LV ever had green dial?

Last Saturday we had a GTG at the new Rolex Boutique in Chicago. We struck up a long conversation with the store manager Ryan, for about 45 minutes. The man was very friendly and nice, and turned out to be a Paneristi as well, which was interesting. Anyways, Ryan mentioned that he had read somewhere that Sub LV had a green dial like the GMT2C for 1 year only back in 2002-2003. I am pretty confident that it never had a green dial because lets face it, it would be one of the most saught after Submariner in the recent history. He asked that we research and get back to him. What better place to ask this question then right here on TRF? Lets hear it TRF, and please be nice in your responds, because I am going to send him this thread and hopefully turn him into a TRF regular.

I can pretty confidently agree with you that a green dial LV from 2002 never existed, if it did, we would know

From all the reading and research I've seen, there has not been one. I always thought it would be nice to have a green dial to match the green bezel for a few years as it is supposed to be an anniversary edition.

Can't imagine it existing and never seeing it in the For Sale section of TRF.

There was no LV in 2002, the 16610LV was released in 2003 for the 50th anniversary of the Submariner. I believe they started appearing in AD's towards the end of 2003 with "Y" serial numbers. Oh, and no green dial.

No green dial in the orig anniversary LV. Just the black dial but with unique characteristics for the true Mk1 dial.
