Which two would you keep?
Need to free up some funds for an opportunity and so one of my watches must go. Which two would you keep out of the following three?

5712... do NOT sell your 5712.
I have no preference one way or the other on the other two as both have pros and cons depending on what the replacement is and what you want to wear them for.

I've never liked any PP watches until seeing the one on the right. While I appreciate the quality of Patek, the style has never excited me. But I actually like the one on the right a lot. I'd keep that and the Rolex. My tastes are fairly simple and a bit rigid, so my opinion may not be very useful. I'm a 5-digit BLRO guy and a Speedmaster guy primarily, and I'm not a collector. Just an enthusiast who wears whatever he buys.

I'd keep the two Patek's! Much more difficult to reacquire later also if you change your mind.

Because I am no fan of yellow gold or submariner, I would keep the two PP's and sell the sub.

If you're looking to free up funds the one to sell is the Aquanaut. They are selling over list and will fetch you a premium. The sub you will take a big hit on so sort of pointless getting rid of that. As for the 5712. Never let that one go. It's pretty much perfect.

I'm a Rolex fan but as others have mentioned, I think your Gold Sub would be easier to replace. Ultimately, you need to decide for yourself.

As has been said- I’d keep both PPs. Very, very easy to get that sub back if you wanted to. The PPs howerever, rather more difficult.

Keep the PP's...
That Rolex is a matter of taste lets say... and it's certainly not my taste. Too flamboyant, but that is my opinion of every full gold yellow piece. Platinum's / white golds are exceptions imo |

Bye Bye Aquanaut. Never been the biggest fan. PP bracelets are so finely made.

Personally I would sell all three. Pursue your opportunity and buy one or two new pieces.
If you want to keep one, if keep the Aquanaut. Modern-ish classic, legible and simple high end sports watch. Get a dress watch to go with it, and you're done. |
