Hello new Rolex owner
I just joined and was reading for a while. I wanted a Rolex for many years. I never thought I would be able to get one so it was never a serious thought. When I was a kid I traveled through Europe 3 times. Every time spending a good amount of time is Switzerland. I went in 1985,1986 and 1987. I bought a few cheaper watches there. I still have my pocket watch. It is made by blita and it is a quartz movement and still running today. Long story short I remembered the Rolex crown my whole life.
Today I bought a 116200 Datejust in Black 36 mm. In the last month I went to 4 ADs and they had very little stock. Oyster Perpetuals were few and far between. Very spotty inventory. Today the AD had 3 Datejust. Black,white and blue. They all are beautiful. I went back and forth between the Black and white. I don’t think I will ever be able to buy another but I am really happy with my choice. I can’t believe I own a Rolex. ETA: In 1985 I remember the exchange rate was 2.5 Swiss fracs to 1 US dollar |

If this is the only one I will be able to have I will remain very greatful. These are very beautiful. I can only wear it when not working because my job will not be friendly to This work of art. I am still just amazed at the box. |
