Red Tag or Green Tag?

I bought a CPO Explorer II Polar, reference 216570, from an AD (w/box and papers) with a warranty card dated 3/13/2020. The serial number on the warranty card matches the watch. The original selling AD confirmed (they were kind enough to research and respond to my email) the sale date and five-year warranty.

From what I've read online, Rolex switched from red tags to green in 2015. Additionally, warranties moved from two to five years in 2015.

My question is regarding the hang tag seal that came with the watch from the CPO AD...it's red instead of green. Considering the sale date and five-year warranty, did someone just throw the wrong hang tag in the box?

I thought the tag was supposed to be white on a CPO Rolex? My Explorer II, bought in 2017 had the green hang tag. Sounds like an honest mix up.

Just sounds like an oversight on someone’s part

I’m surprised you got the original warranty card. Did you also get a CPO warranty card, with two year warranty from your purchase date?

Looks like the Red tag was accidentally thrown in. Everything else looks good.
Enjoy your watch.
