Incoming....I needed this like another hole in the head....

So, I was wearing this one all weekend and this week in honor of Sean Connery

(116610)

Then I visited my AD and what do you know, they offered me this

(126610)

Anyone with any smarts would use some logic and say thanks but no thanks, I already have one. Not me, I just had to do it. No logic, but it sang to me as soon as I tried it on. Enough said, I was a goner. And I don't regret it one bit having the previous one and the new one. I love them both. The stainless Submariner is my favorite Rolex.

OP,

If you think that's bad, I have the outgoing, bought the new 41 LN when offered, and then bought a second one when I was offered another 41 LN.

No one said this hobby had to make sense.

Enjoy it, curious which. one you prefer (I prefer the outgoing supercase)?

Thank you everyone for the kind words. My favorite part of this place is we are all in the same boat and everyone gets my humor. Thank you all for that also.

Thank you for making me seem less nuts.

In all seriousness, I don't know how to answer your question. Please don't misunderstand, it's a great question, I just don't have an answer. But let me give a couple of insights....

I think the "supercase" is going to be highly collectable and sought after 50 years from now because it is so different than any Submariner ever made previously. I am 58 so I might not be around to enjpy selling mine and making a big profit.

I was at my AD on Tuesday and trying the new one on when a friend of both the AD and me stopped in for a quick visit and he had bought the new one very recently from our AD. After me ribbing the AD for getting his before I was offered one and all of us laughing, the friend commented on how much better the new one wore compared to his previous model bluesy. He even offered for me to wear his for a couple of weeks and compare them. At that point, I knew I was sold on the new one. And I think he is right. This new one is something else. I can't explain it, but it wears so nicely. All Rolex wear nice, but this one is special. And I decided this one will be a "daily", meaning I won't worry about it. It did cross my mind that if something happened to my previous one that I got a year ago, I literally couldn't replace it. So while I will wear the maxi-case on occasion, the new one will be a "daily driver" since it is replaceable.

Awesome. I would have done the same thing. Waiting on my call for the new LV. But I will probably buy what ever new sub I am offered honestly.

Congratulations. Question. Did you have it sized up? Is the bracelet on this sized differently to the older Submariner? My friend got one recently and has been struggling with sizing. 7.25” wrist with 4.5 on 6 o’clock end and 5 on 12o clock not much room on glide lock for adjustments

I currently have one link out of each of them from the 12:00 side and they both seem to wear similar. Perfect fit thanks to the glidelock. My wrist is probably a little over 7.5".

Nothing about this "hobby" makes sense.

Tom, folks on this forum would think you had no logic if you DIDN'T pick up the new one. How else are you going to have the pair? Congrats!
