Ceramic Pepsi bezel - faulty then?

Not a big fan of the reference, so apologies if this has been discussed before.

I’m aware though of the issues that Rolex have apparently had applying the red to the Pepsi bezel.

If they have stopped making them due to technical issues, does this not make any that have made retail actually faulty in some way?

Seems logical if a technical reason has stopped their production at some point, that whatever was produced before is not quite ‘right’? 🤔

I may be wrong but red is the easy part, but the blue is the struggle .. that’s why under UV the whole bezel looks red ..

It’s the blending at the border of the red and blue that makes it challenging

I wouldn't say they're faulty - they still function as intended but are just not as durable as Rolex would like, allegedly.

The red is the base colour. The blue is overlaid by dipping half the bezel to chemically change the red. There is no coating. The material used for the red insert is more fragile than other bezel inserts.

As a species, we have been to the moon and back.. I am sure Rolex, out of all companies know how to make a red bezel that somehow is difficult to align with blue.

I heard about the "technical challenge" from many different sources but still can't quite comprehend the fact that it's never been a problem for those super clone factories, who apparently can make them in good quality, high quantity, and low cost.

I don’t believe this technical difficulties because you can buy very cheap watches with the same bezel and than Rolex can’t do it ?

There has been a pattern of the red and blue bezel being noticeably more susceptible to hairline cracks since its PM introduction. TRF is full of reports of this. I remember many of these reports stating the owner doesn’t even remember impacting the watch. This could also be temperature related creating fractures? All we know is Rolex uses a different process and material in this particular ceramic bezel in manufacturing. We also know Rolex has constantly been modifying it with variations of different hues in both red and blue since its initial introduction. Only Rolex knows why.

Such a tired argument, if you don’t like the BLRO don’t buy one. I’ve had mine since December of ‘18, I love it. There is nothing “faulty” about it.

My AD claims not that they are faulty from durability perspective but that 9/10 that come out of the production process are not suitable for sale from esthetic perspective. So they spend a ton on each that actually gets used.
