Did the Shopping Mall hype fade?
|
Well I got the call but typical I am out of the country ATM. Hope this will keep hold of it for me on my return.
|
I like it but I'm waiting for the "David SW Green Rolex GMT Limited Edition" to come out at Baselworld 2018! [emoji106][emoji3]
|
Congrats on that one. I'd probably let go of my three tudors just for that one. The avocado green has such a cool 60's vibe, I can't take my eyes off of it.
|
I see them at Au$11500.:thumbsdow
The ETA movement in a SS Tudor would need to be solid gold at that price?:chuckle::chuckle: Tudor Heritage Black Bay Harrods Special Edition of 100 79230G. Automatic 2824 calibre movement. I was in Harrods last weekend and saw them (they had three in the case). Those three weren't for sale but I joined the list. I was told two years which might as well mean "go away since I don't know you by name". Maybe it'll come up one day.

original 100 were numbered,,went like hotcakes,,,list was opened and closed at 200? and first lot of un-numbered watches ware due to arrive in summer but that was an estimate i believe and will only be available from Harrods [not including greys],,,, |

It bums me out that the limited-edition versions of these Tudors all seem to land in Europe. Being a Los Angeles guy, it looks like my only option is to buy aftermarket at a premium, which isn't worth it to me (...yet). |
If you want a rare black back why don’t you try for the Met Police protection group one. Only 75 made !!! How much could 100thmonkey sell one of those for ??

Sadly not a lot as only Met would be interested! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

that is a very special piece,,,, |

Apologies I must have had the whole watch market wrong. I didn’t realise that if a watch had an emblem or a logo on it and was extremely rare and made in low numbers it would be worth less than the mass produced one. I bet you must throw those Comex things in the bin or change the dial if you ever get one !!!!! Who would want some company name on their watch like that ?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Harrods’ Black Bay LE?
Quote:
It at all I just find that the Sqn / RAF / Org pieces are truly of interest to those in the job and only a really small market outside of it. Often they are commissioned for an organisation at a discount and are very sentimental to the buyers Comex is a unique Rolex made at a time when they were truly issued and no one thought the badge would gain indeed it was designed to devalue them as they were company logo’s. Sign of the times I guess * No offence meant to those who like this watch fro the colours alone |

I’m sure the Met piece would be attractive to someone and I would gladly sale or return for any value the owner places on it. The slight confusion with the Green Bay is that it is a very nice watch with a single point of purchase. The novelty is not Harrods it’s the unique detailing on the bezel, hand and dial that make it amazing. Truth be told the outlet is secondary but it does have weight worldwide with its reputation for luxury Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Harrods’ Black Bay LE?

Mines tucked away thanks. One on the website and one incoming this weekend Just for the record. Love the watch. It’s perfect. Clarity over the release has embarrassed Harrods staff but I’m sure they will get over it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I callled Tudor at Harrods today
RE= BB Harrods It appears they are getting around 50 watches a month so patiance is a virtue,,, Been assured I will get a call but no deposits at present and asked if I would be able to pick up the watch in the same day I get the call ? Depending on what time I get the call then yes that wouldn’t be a problem,, So fingers crossed and maybe just maybe I may have one by summer,, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I know that these are coming in to Harrods in random numbers too! Not consecutive!
As for final numbers, I was told they only wanted to order 150 - 200 in total but Tudor screwed Harrods over threatening to pull the exclusive colour... they could pull it at anytime as this proving trouble for them. Rolex are also monitoring all sold watches, you are black listed if found to be selling purely for profit! Happy I have one of the first 100. |

I didn’t ask people to bring them to me and a few collectors (who didn’t get on the list) now have them so collectors have gained not missed out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
