Old Tutor Prince Submariner

Greetings to all:
I'm a new member (first post) My watch is as follows:

Tutor Prince Submariner
S/N 4003XX
Model 7928
Pointed crown guard
acrylic crystal
about 46 years old

Watch has never been restored polished or modified but the watch band which came on the watch was changed out many years ago.

The watch has not been serviced in about 30 years. The watch has been in my desk for about 25 years. I took it out yesterday shook it for a while and then put it on my wrist. It is running but gained about 2 mins in 36 hours.

I need to have it serviced. Who would you have service such a old watch as this? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I hope to post some pictures. Thank you!

I have one question: What the heck is the anchor for?

OK, I lied, I have another question: Where do you find all of these wonderful Tudors?

Greg,
The anchor was an accessory that came w/ Tudor and Rolex Subs as well as Rolex Sea Dwellers. This was stopped a few years ago.
Finding vintage Tudors requires due diligence scouring the net after you've done the proper research to determine what reference is your favorite.
Good luck,

Can anyone help me find out the date this watch was made? I bought it new a few years ago. It had been sitting at the AD for a long time..I have no idea what year it is from! What do these go for? I picked up two of them 5 years ago, they were sitting at the dealer for years unsold..I paid I think $500 each and gave one as a gift..I have the papers and box and it doesn't say the name? I've never worn it..Might be gift for fiancee (shhh)..she got one of my hand me downs recently that she loves...

Serial number 16889..

TIA..

Also, I lent it to a friend (last time ever!) and he lost the %^$ crown...Any leads on where to get a replacement?

Help with Serial Number

Hi -
I am new to the forum and love Tudor watches. I am currently looking to purchase a Tudor model #94613 from a dealer who states that the serial number on the watch is 96971. I have asked him to confirm this and he states that it is correct and that he owns another Tudor with a 5 digit serial number as well. Is it possible that this is the correct serial number? Looking at the serial number list, it looks like all Tudor serial numbers have 6 digits or 6 digits and a letter. Any help would be useful. Thanks -Jeremy (absolut422@aol.com)

79260 tiger

Tudor prince date tiger 79260 bought NOS from Rolex/Tudor boutique july 2009:thumbsup:
Serial H310xxx w/ credit card type warranty
"Linen" champagne-colored dial w/ baton hour markers, black subdials, red tiger logo, red big second hand, "swiss made"
Tudor jubilee bracelet w/ non-fliplock clasp
Big burgundy leatherette box

What puzzled me was the credit card warranty. I thought this came later than 2002 long after tiger was discontinued? The AD couldnt offer an explanation. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks!

Hi all, I posted this in the other similar ref lib thread, but tries here as well if someone could help me.

I recently got totally hooked on Tudors... These are my babies and I really would like the help to date them (hope this is the right thread for it).

Model 9050/0, serial 87xxxx (seems to be a gap between 1977 and 1978?)
Model 94400, serial 10xxxx (should be after 1984?)

My 94400 has blue bezel and dial, anyone who know if this one is rare? I've seen quite many in black and a few in gold/champagne - but hardly seen many in blue. Love the color btw.

Many thanks in advance and hope I can get in touch with some Tudor-people here!

Yes, tudor has issued 5-digit serial numbers. According to my archive, the firtst they used the 5-digit serial is back to around 1940's or so. The another time they used 5 which is around 1984.

Hi Tomas

According to my archive, s/n 87x,xxx and 10x,xxx correspond to around 1977 and 1984 respectively.

I have come across with 94400 with black dial / bezel and blue dial / bezel as well.
