We are very healthy eaters all year round but Christmas is the exception. We start with Orange juice and Champagne before a Bacon & Eggs breakky - which is a treat for us.
Then it is Espresso and Christmas Cake for Morning Tea.
Pre-lunch Martinis then always a "cold" lunch - it is the middle of Summer here. Ham, Prawns (shrimp to you) Turkey, Oysters and a Mango and avocado salad, among others. Sweets usually a very special Trifle made by my Son.
Get out the good Gin and Scotch and sit around the TV and play the musical "Chess" and sing along. We know all the words as we have been doing this for decades.
Dinner is every man/woman for themselves.
Last Christmas, Daughter and me got a little out of control and were still drinking and singing along at midnight. We have been warned....

Used to have coquito yearly back when I lived in Miami, but can't remember the last time I had it. Been spending Christmas with my wife's family the last few years and it's the typical fare with a few hispanic twists (lechon, arroz con gandules, etc.), but nothing that really gets me excited. Maybe I should change that this year and treat myself to a nice whisky.

We have panettone as well as Torone. Both Italian yummies. My mother and my wife also make an assortment of Italian biscotti every year. Cannot wait!

Where can I buy true Eggnog?

I don't think it is a real Christmas unless someone gets "warned".

MAKE IT!. There is a great recipe on the web by alton brown I believe his name is. Every year I make a big batch of spiced eggnog and let it age for 30-45 days and we open on christmas. You can make the eggnog and just add no alcohol to it.

If you do end up adding the alcohol to it, you can age it for over a year. I had a year old bottle we opened up a few weeks ago on thanksgiving and it tasted awesome. If you add enough alcohol the cream won't go bad :rofl:
