I think the OP is being ridiculous, but I do also think this release, as well as the new blue dial WG BLRO were both a little bit of a slap in the face to original WG BLRO owners.

Jacobson 23 March 2018 01:56 AM

If I still had my WG BLRO I would wear it.

In fact if I come across one at a reasonable price, I may be tempted to reaquire

Timely thread; because I passed over on a SS Pepsi for a trusted sellers last WG blue dial. To me $20k for a SS watch is not for me; I’d rather have gold (plus if you’ve been paying attention PM pieces are now steadily increasing in value, since you’re concerned about he value)

Seddyspaghetti 29 August 2020 07:26 AM

Hell yes.

tally 29 August 2020 07:27 AM

youre right, dont wear it. your street cred will never recover

Harry-57 29 August 2020 07:28 AM

Give it to me. I'll wear it for you and carry your shame.

madgpol 29 August 2020 07:30 AM

Don't see the problem. You know what you have. Is it that important you need others to know? Discretion is the name of the game

DJ39 29 August 2020 09:46 AM

I have handled one at an AD

Also seen a couple in the wild, the gold looks completely different that SS

Bulldog21 29 August 2020 10:15 AM

Waste of my time

AF_Rob 29 August 2020 10:24 AM

Must be nice to have these worries.

173rdabn 29 August 2020 10:25 AM

HUH? :bartmoon:

Onikage 29 August 2020 10:34 AM

Yes. The angry WG Pepsi owner. I remember those.

Heck, I embarrass myself a the time. Why not look good doimg it?

subprimero 29 August 2020 11:33 AM

The point of WG is that it is unlikely that anyone other than the wearer will know what it is. Introducing the watch in SS only adds to this enjoyment.

wgdaytona 29 August 2020 11:36 AM

Hell yes, why not? Your money, your enjoyment. Yes, yes yes. For years I wore a WG Daytona. I was DUMB enough to trade it off and get a SS Daytona. Great watch, but, NOT as great as my past WG Daytona. I'll never make that mistake again. Just sayin... You should wear it and enjoy it.

Adri4n. 29 August 2020 11:55 AM

lol... ultimate first world problem, all of these "plebs" wearing the same watch. Not to worry, I hear a gold hulk is just around the corner!

Good find

Ordinarily a 2y.o. Thread is no longer relevant - but that quote must have been taken right to the drawing board by Rolex designers. :chuckle:

It's not Rolex that betrayed you..

And you've a great piece there, why so frustrated. Just enjoy and hope that the Hype train goes around to it one day...

Seems so fustrated if I have a wg pepsi. I won't wear it anymore and dont want to be shamed by others of wearing the same pepsi looking watch that can buy at 1/3 price.

Damn rolex what are you doing? You betray your buyers in face.

My plan:
YG DD40
And
WG BLRO.

End of collection.
That, to me, is all I need, and want.

YG DD40 first. And soooooon.

I buy mine for me, not others.

Snake Plissken 29 August 2020 04:34 PM

Hey OP wanna trade for my SS? ;)

I'm happy to carry the burden of your shame.

That's it with PM Rolex for me. Until the next badass PM reference comes out that is :chuckle:

Haha I just came to think what smurf owners would think of a SS blue dial sub. Same as Pepsi Max owners back in the day properly (:

Wear what you want

S/S Pepsi is nice, but it pales into insignificance when compared to its heavy hitting sibling. No contest, not even close.

Case closed.

Spectre38 29 August 2020 07:34 PM

If this is the OPs largest cause of frustration... he may want to reevaluate things.
