I think there is a bit of over reaction here. There are all kinds of people in this world, rich, poor, shy, overt.....no need to walk away from the excitement that life brings in all forms every day.

Holy shit, how about making a rule that you must be 16 and older to post so that your ego doesn't get hurt. Get over yourself, oh gentle soul. :bullshit:

CREAM had just posted a good post about his SD, and was engaging with us when someone decided to leave. I think we are all big boys and girls around here and can appreciate the exposure to a new spirit. I am wanting to see CREAM's goods and learn more about him. Having been a trial lawyer for 22 years, I know one thing. Don't get too excited by first impressions and don't judge the book by the cover. My guess is that it took a lot of "substance" or talent to be able to appreciate the kind of collection CREAM has. So hang on folks.

Cream,

Like I advised you yesterday, please back off into your corner and simmer down. You are treading now on very thin ice. Most of the members here have been around for ages and are great guys....so is Miner.

We value friendship around here - not wealth and riches. If you really do have all that you so ostentatiously claim to have, you could be a wee bit more modest about it.

Please treat this forum and its members with the respect they deserve.

Thank you - JJ

capoots 10 March 2007 04:26 AM

Arturo, what you say is correct, but you have to admit there definitely is a confrontational undertone. Its not that people are being over sensitive, its just that people are picking up on that. We all know when someone is trying to stir the pot.

1 "good post" because it's about a watch you like doesn't cover up for the 15 or so other posts of nonsense and crap.

Sorry, but I'll be joining Miner if this forum is only about the watches in the collection and not the person behind them.

As for what's behind the collection, any moron with enough $ can buy a watch. Plenty of jerks making lots of money. I'm not impressed by that.

Arturo 10 March 2007 04:34 AM

I am they guy who thinks that the NBA gives too many technicals to Rasheed Wallace. I see him react emotionally and get a tech.

I don't know CREAM. I understand what you say, but I also think it is OK to wait and let the juice settle down and meet the guy under the talk. My bets are that once he feels less cornered, he will bring us more of who he is, and that cannot hurt any of us. A guy like this is one of a kind in some ways, so lest we lose a winner in the long run, I am willing to wait and see and be less reactive. If it turns out that I am wrong, I will know that at least I opted for optimism about the potential in people. People surprise me every day.

I also agree with JJ that there are rules of conduct and courtesy that keep us civil.

WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! All you guys....just hang in there, please!! Let's not all get worked up over this.

I for one wouldn't like to see any of our valued members go off in a huff over such trivia. Things will be sorted out soon. Please just have some patience and move on to another thread if this one upsets you.

Thanks all - JJ

No kidding. You don't need a wind vane to see which way the wind blows with this one.

leopardprey 10 March 2007 04:37 AM

I sent a PM to Miner. I have always enjoyed his post and his post about the GMT is one of the reasons I have one on my wrist now. I hope Miner stays and does not let some punk ruin the fellowship of all the great people on this forum.

CREAM 10 March 2007 04:40 AM

I like Arturo's attitude but what I don't like is my integrity being challenged. Mr. JJ, you talk about respect and in the same breath you challenge my integrity yet again by suggesting IF in fact I own etc etc. What happened to giving people the benefit of the doubt when they tell you something? What is my motivation for making this up? You think I went out and took these pictures somewhere? Why do I even need to post photos to prove myself to anyone? You keep pointing fingers and talk about respect yet I am the one that people call a troll and a liar, why, because I happen to have alot of watches?

Think about it before you reply.

P.S. The haters can keep the name calling all they want, it's ammusing. People like that feed me...LOL

You need to read my post a little more carefully. I have never said you don't have that collection....all I said is if you do so ostentatiously claim to have what you have, then do so with a touch of modesty.

Your posts and attitude have managed to rub the hell out of many of these valued members here. Like I said, and I do so with politeness, you really do need to calm down and back off a little.

Watches and cars are appreciated here, but that subject has been done before.....several bloody times.

If you have a fantastic collection of watches, we would be more than happy to view your pics and hear about the collection.

All I'm asking you to do is just tread lightly and stop stepping on so many toes.

Thanks - JJ

I'm not speaking for clive (miner) but I am very confident that his reaction isn't to this single thread but more than likely to what has happened to this site since the banning of Atomic!

Just my thoughts!

Because you have a lot of watches? No. Plenty of guys with a lot of watches here.

It's because you come across as a pompous jackass.

CREAM 10 March 2007 04:52 AM

I love it how this "gentleman" keeps calling me names and each post of his is a personal attack yet my posts are the only ones scrutinized. It is also hysterical how this same clown is another keyboard tough guy but would never call me these names were we standing nose to nose cause he knows I'd bury him on the spot. Keep on making yourself feel like a big man cause your internet ego is the best thing you got going in life...LOL

Arturo 10 March 2007 04:56 AM

I am a mediator at heart, even though I have to dish and take abuse for a living as a litigator. I know exactly what is happening, and if you guys will defer to me, to my expertise, just for an hour or so, and not respond with names at CREAM, and let this slow down and get back to substance, you might be surprised that he will slow down too and not escalate.

What I saw was RIGHT AT THE POINT on this dialogue when he backed out and started to talk substance about his SD, in effect he did JUST WHAT JJ suggested, someone took a swing at him. AT THAT POINT, there was a chance to get this in order, but that left hook started the escalation again.

I happen to know what I am talking about, and if you review the thread you will see that there was a lull and the opportunity to see who he was. He is a man who might not be too trusting and is too quick to judge us as well. But swiping at him just as he is trying to submit a little won't help.

Arturo 10 March 2007 04:58 AM

And CREAM, that means you too. Slow down and don't get sucked into retaliation and calling people clowns. Your point that you were called a name was well noted. Leave it at that. You will possibly find good friends here.

CREAM 10 March 2007 05:02 AM

I'm being attacked personally and responding accordingly. I never made an attack on anyone, nor call anyone names, nor provoke any hate or doubt. I only made some inquiring posts relevant to the boards posted on and I made conversation in line with those posts. The ONLY posts made by myself in negative light were all on the defensive when provoked by others. Read through it and you'll see. If I am wrong on what I said above I'll digress.

Arturo 10 March 2007 05:05 AM

IN the world of conflict resolution. let's change the rhythm. This is boring. I would like actually to comment on your YM collection. It seems that that is the heart of your Rolex passion. Which of those babies do you like the most. I cannot imagine having 6 YM's. You gotta have a fave.

Where was he called a name?

I love the Platinum YM. It'll "probably" be the only other Rolex I get. Maybe in a few years.

advocatia 10 March 2007 05:13 AM

Wow this thread is crazy! The forum is either being totally baited by this guy OR he is the real deal and a bit abrasive.

Botttom line CREAM is maybe that it's not what you said or asked but HOW you said or asked it. Like meeting strangers at a party, you don't START OFF by asking probing questions about their worth or assets. Not cool. Not ever.

Also.... no one here is going to physically fight anyone else so you may want to back off on that as well. There are alot of guys here who also collect serious weapons as a hobby. I wouldn't go knocking on any doors.

I think your initial approach rubbed some people the wrong way. I'm not saying you aren't who you say you are, or that you don't have what you say you have, I'm just saying you made a rather indelicate entrance here.

Either chill out and be more discreet or I suspect your time here may be measured in hours.

watchnut 10 March 2007 05:16 AM

Cream has two of the attributes I've always envied in other people and wish I had...Money up the wazoo and the knowledge of how to spend it! Rollies, Rollies, Rollies!

Arturo 10 March 2007 05:23 AM

I like the Platinum as well, but the blue faced one is rarely seen by me in AD's and it is bitchin. I think I am waiting for a YM with a triplock AND a red or green travel second hand. But that won't happen because Rolex does not want to put too much into one watch. IF they did, guys like CREAM wouldn't want them all.

worktolivelife 10 March 2007 05:25 AM

NICE Collection!!! Just have one Rolex now myself, worn almost 24/7 , just feels right to me , to wear it and enjoy it! to be honest my one watch as a child gave just as much pleasure , guess its all relative

Can a moderator just end this topic, please? This topic does not belong on a Rolex website, much less taking up 5 pages of nonsense.
