Just got it back today and not only did Oliver do a super job on the restoration, but he was very quick and easy to communicate with, easy-going and all-round a pleasure to do business with. Highly recommend his service!

Afternoon All, Im mindful i haven't updated the thread for a while.

Hope your all keeping well.

Just to advise i'm still offering this service at a very competitive rate of £375. if you are in the UK i can turn around this work in 2days, something not to be sniffed at. Don't be waiting 20 plus weeks from other vendors.

Latest work from myself.
All the best
O

Both of the below repairs belonged to gentlemen who have owned these watches for 30 plus years. They were extremely satisfied with the new lease of life the bracelet now has.

Looks like you're providing a stellar service but it's a little off-putting (for me anyway) that the price has increased from £300 in January to £375 in October. I don't know much about the price of pins but I'm sure they haven't increased that much themselves.

Do you also repair rose gold bracelets or just the steel/bi-metal ones?

Thanks

I bought a reconditioned band from Ollie9swy and it was a very personalized experience. He shipped overseas and I obtained the bracelet quickly. Highly recommend his service.

The Jubilee in from the previous post belong to me.

Olly has done an excellent job and I'm very pleased with it.

Posted it on Friday and had it returned the following Tuesday.

Olly also did a minor repair job on my Oval linked Made in USA Jubilee bracelet which is now sitting on my wrist.

Excellent service.

Pardon my ignorance, but why do so few people offer this type of service? My local jewelers say its too complex, but with the correct tools it seems more time consuming than difficult and certainly less complex than digging into the case..

Does it affect value since you cannot get Rolex pins? I'm new to the community and it really appears that band stretch has significant impact on resale value, so why arent more doing it?

eyyopomps 10 March 2021 05:14 AM

Can anyone tell me what pin size is for a Rolex Date 1500 Jubilee?

gyang333 16 March 2021 01:46 PM

Oliver, I saw that you said you are able to repair SS and TT jubilee bracelets. Are you able to replace a full-gold jubilee bracelet? I have a modern gold Jubilee bracelet but I'm curious of there is stretch down the road, if it's something you could work on.

Thanks

In reality its not as simple as just replacing pins . the bracelets that are very stretched, and they are a big percentage of the ones that get sent in to us , TWD UK , will not come out without snapping, they can be a hairs width , the remains need to be carefully drilled out trying extremely hard to leave the correct hole to insert another new pin . After drilling the hole left is normally larger than the correct size pin so remedial work has to be done . Sometimes rust eats into the area surrounding the pin and the whole link piece can crack from within once a new stronger pin is inserted . Again another headache that has to be addressed .
This also affects the Oyster bracelets . Less worn bracelets are easier to do but you should have decent machinery backup to correct mistakes and breakages etc otherwise you have a problem!

Great work mate, even worth sending a bracelet from Australia... horologists here don't have the time to specialize in this kind of work, im sure you can advertise on Gumtree over here ... send me a pm if you require assistance with that, willing to place an ad on your behalf.

Couple of bracelets in this week that i would like to share with you all to give this thread a bit of substance again.

First bracelet in was a gorgeous rose gold jubilee removed from a late 60s 1601 with 455 R end links.

This watch was in a state of complete originality, unpolished and un clean! well worn time piece great to see. What was revealed under the end links was not so nice to see.

Never the less myself and the client was thoroughly delighted with the outcome.

Could you do a vintage JB Champion US made oval link bi-metal ? I have tried in the UK but the deal breakers where ether (a) costs exhorbitant or (b) not got the special equipment required to drill the links.

I love my rolex

Absolutely amazed with how my rose gold datejust turned out. You would not believe the waiting time and prices others quoted me compared to the price charged by ollie9swy.
1-2 days turn-around plus little extras here and there for no extra charge, total gent and most of all GENUINE!! Straight to the point, no funny business and no crap.
Would not hesitate to give him a call again and would recommend him to plenty. First time posting here so ive tried to attach some pictures, run into a sizing issue. Hopefully will try to sort out today and post later on.
Nice work ollie
