looks like panerai dont quite understand what their customers actually want, they just throw out a number of little variation versions of the same model again and again. hoping that at least one of the variations become a hot seller.

Great point. A quote from Jean Marc Pontroue, CEO of Panerai, while at RD - “Of course you need to create spectacular platforms, spectacular products, limited editions, crazy materials“. And I think this is the mindset of Panerai today. He may not be the right person to lead a product group based on history and a unique character that has stood the test of time such as Panerai.

I will say, PAM USA and Bob in Naples have ALWAYS been a pleasure. If it wasn't for their wonderful, enthusiastic, graciousness I'd have bailed from the brand. Thx PAM USA and Bob  |

To be fair to Panerai, i have warmed up to overpaying for a PAM timepiece provided yet get a 'free' ''experience" with one of their sponsored explorers. i feel SCUBA diving with one of their sponsored experts has value and does provide a great PR opportunity for Panerai that is aligned with the company's history.

i prefer the 1020 over the 1111, 1020 is more balanced....

How disappointing - these releases are so meh.
I formally apologize for making fun of the Tron watch last year. It is looking pretty good right now. I can't believe the 372 is gone. |
hmmm ... aesthetically, will have to take a pass on the new gradient dial models. Prefer matte on Panerai vs. these or sun brushed/burst as well
some of the other releases look quite nice however |

Why are people saying the 372 and 422 are gone?? They are still both on the website.

I'll have to see the 1135 in person, though, because I may prefer a matte blue dial instead of the shinier sunburst. Like how the 317 with the matte black dial has an overall stealthy look. A nice contrast with many of my other watches. https://i.imgur.com/bbeucTT.jpg?4 https://i.imgur.com/u3s9JAU.jpg?1 |
Well, for better or worse, Panerai at least keeps it interesting compared to Rolex....

I’m hoping we will see some radiomirs? The website is still sparse.
|
I went to panerai because I’m a larger guy and I liked the 47mm options
Are any of the new watches 47mm? |
Yes, there is something for all wrist sizes, from 38 to 47mm...

Ha! Although, I prefer the 1209 since it has the black dial and blue bezel. Plus the hacking matters (to me). And for the win- it is a limited edition of only 500! My 2 cents... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

eSteel 44mm Submersibles
I haven't purchased a Panerai since my 111 almost 15 years ago (which I still LOVE), but I'm really loving the new 44mm submersibles. Great size...and I don't get hung up on movement decoration or hacking. My 111 doesn't hack and my Rolex GMT Batman has a completely undecorated movement...which you can't see anyway.
I personally don't care about the eSteel recycling marketing gimmick (seriously, how much steel goes into a car compared to a watch? Seems like a drop in the ocean) but regardless...they look so darn good I'm probably going to buy one anyway. I've always wanted a submersible but 47mm felt big and 42mm felt just a tad small for a Panerai so these 44mm versions are exciting. I just can't decide between the blue, green and grey versions. Green is super trendy right now....and I love it...but I'll probably go with grey. |
