This has been one of the most fascinating threats I have read here on the forum. We really do have an interesting mix of folks from all over the world. I am an old retired professor who most often wears a Swiss Army watch. I recently got an Exp II for Sunday and going out. I also have a nice new Seiko black face Diver's watch and a white faced Tag Heuer 2000 Classic. Have no idea why I have so many, but surely don't need to justify them to you folks (y'all as we say here in GA) as so many of you have several Rolex watches.

I have also enjoyed the car choices of our members. I am a Land Rover nut. I own an ex-RAF '73 Series III military lightweight in full livery and a Range Rover Sport. Cheers, Bill P.

As far as the Range Rover Sport. :thumbsup: That is a sweet ride!!! That's the vehicle my girl wants. She would trade in her E320 in a heartbeat for one of those beauties.

I own with 2 partners a property maintenance company, we do snow plowing/deicing, landscaping, and hardscaping. I wear my DD every day, no problem since I'm in the office most of the time. I also like cars and trucks. I drive a 4x4 pickup. In my younger days I had sport cars. 1961 Triumph TR3, 1965 Austin Healy 3000. Many of you may not know of those!

I am a General Contractor in commercial construction. We specialize in tenant finish. My brother and I own it. I wear my green sub everyday. I have had 3 rollies in the last 2 years. black sub sold it for a gmt II red/blue and then sold it for the green sub.

After guarding the streets of a mid-size Canadian city for 7 years, I moved on to of all things.. Computers. Started back in the late eighties designing systems for persons with disabilities, moved on to networking and continue today traveling between Canada and Washington State working.

We as doctors and patients appreciate these people.They are always underpaid,understaffed and overworked.Its the hospitals thats the problem.We have had some nasty battles with hosp management in regards with this.We cannot afford to lose people of high calibre,in this critical spesialized field.

Not to my knowledge: folks who wear (real) Rolexes generally don't do the sort dumb stuff required to get stopped in the first place. However, if it was a fake, then there's a credibility issue :read::justkiddi:rofl::rofl::rofl::cheers:

Not a good town for Rolex spotting though for some reason,dont know why.

Ron from Charlotte, My Swiss Army is a Victorinox, not sure what model. It has a black metal case and I had a black nylon/brown leather strap put on. It is a fine walk about watch. My Range Rover Sport is an '06 model in Giverny green. It is my 6th Land Rover and a great machine. My wife drives an '05 E 320 which we really like as the family car. We have grown kids/grandkids so we are a couple again. She never drives the old military Rover as it is RHD which means shifting with the left hand. Not to get off Rolex's, but your Swiss Army is the Calvery model. I have one of those too, but only in SS, with the green nylon/brown leather band.

I'm still using the Capirex Edition Oil Drums in real life. When I was at Laguna, it was so bright that I went with the Gas Cans I keep stashed in my flight cases, because they're polarized. The Hayden Eye Patch and Capirex models only have the standard HDO optics. Same thing with the white Riddles I also keep at work. I guess to keep this on topic, a lot of people in GP wear Rolexes - it's a way of saying "I Did It, or I Made It!". Kind of cheesey, I know, but I see more GMT's and Exp's per capita in GP than anywhere else I've been to. And oddly enough, there are a bunch of Submariners here, too. The connecting thread is that we all love and respect quality and heritage, and with this lifestyle (I'll be on the road 250+ days this year), one of the things we value most is TIME. It only makes sense to show that reverence by wearing something that we can all respect and admire. Actually, since I don't really consider Barcelona to be my home, I'll be on the road 340 days this year because I managed to spend two weeks in San Francisco this summer (where many of my friends live, and where I consider to be "home").

And Tombstone, since I know you ride here's something I noticed. I used to have a pair of Wire 2.0's that I wore with my helmet, for additional eye protection from windblast and brightness reduction. Even with my tinted visors, I still wore them. I gravitated towards Oakley originally because they didn't have ear-hooks, and thus were easier to slide in while I was strapped in a tight lid. At first, the Oil Drums were a squeeze against the liner, but they fit the eye port of my Arai's perfectly, and I was able to ride at speed with the visor up if I wanted to. Total coverage, no wind/debris penetration, which was awesome.

That's interesting. Never really thought about the perceived image of a police officer with a Rolex.
