Great pics, Art. Looks very PA all right. You can tell when it's spring when the straw hats start showing up instead of the black felt.

Out here, the teen boys use a cellphone if no one is looking, and rollerblade (!) on the bike path.

Dawna, that's funny about Amish sneaking off to watch the show. Not surprising--they are both separated off and just like everyone else in a lot of ways.

Yep, I agree.

Carl,
I'm glad your girlfriend likes the watch!
Mikki,
Glad Luppy is home with you :)
Art,
Love those pics!!
Everyone else in the coffeeshop,
Happy Saturday night!!

Thank you Lisa and Art.

Lisa, the fit is great although it might be a tad tight. Still, she likes it a lot (or so it seemed given her reaction). I'll try to convince her to let me take a wrist shot...:chuckle:

It is a very small bracelet, that's for sure.

If it needs to be "let out" a bit, could you do this yourself? (add a link, enlarge an existing link, or even replace the clasp with a longer one?)

Hope she'll agree to let us see it on her wrist!

I've wondered if Amish (or Mennonite) kids ever rebel and leave the community to go "main stream." It would seem so difficult to maintain that way of life in these times.

I have a new purchase to share with you guys... a rare Roseville "Egypto" compote, circa 1905. It's damaged, so I paid about a tenth of its book value. We have an excellent china/pottery restorer in town (my father in law has used him to fix several rare pieces of railroad china) so I'll be getting it over to him at some point once it arrives.

The other vase I bought has arrived, looks perfect, and is perched on the mantel. It needs a friend or two.

Here's the compote (it's about 9 inches tall). The seller stated it was found in a NY estate sale with plants and dirt in it.:crying::crying:

Well done Carl for getting your GF that watch.

In fact Carl, I've taken quite a shine to Lisa's new DJ. Hint Hint. http://thmg.photobucket.com/albums/v..._Eyelashes.gif

Nice vase Lisa. I'd be careful with all those delicate things around the house. Me and brother used to fight a lot when younger and pretty much break everything delicate (and non delicate) in the house to my parents despair.

Oh, Carl is buying watches?! Carl, I've been pining for a WG Daytona, silver arabic dial, bracelet, of course. And while your at it, a Breitling Lady Galactic 30, red lizard strap and diamond bezel. If you don't mind.

I understand. Nearly all of my old pottery is inside cabinets for that very reason. And also, for a little dust protection.:agree:

But Carl, we know what a kind, generous and big heart you have.....once you buy everyone else their watches if you have a few dollars left still laying around...I'll put in for my order...OKAY!!!

I was thinking for something on the order of the new SkyDweller or a DayDate.....and of course they could be secondhand they do not have to be BNIB...if that helps you out a little.....beggars can't be too picky!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

Beautiful shot, Art. Great capture there, the sunbeams radiating just that way at just that moment.

And those flower-laden trees...so lovely.

Thank You! I love those trees and have mentioned them here before. I have a yellow one. Where I live is about as far north as they can grow. But they do thrive here.

Art-please think of the poor, poor Rodentman tomorrow. There is a Blizzard Warning in place for the Mpls metro area. Very unusual to get that here in the city. Winds could hit 50mph and I really NEED to go to work.

Thanks Bill.

Rodentman. It's just a plan ride away. We could attend a Lightning game. I'm sure you like hockey. About an hour and 15 mins from here is Tampa.

Lisa 18 March 2013 09:56 AM

Ya'll need to move farther south.:agree: I put out a few tomato plants started from seed on Friday. I think I might need to cover them for next Friday's predicted cold snap, but it will hopefully be our last for the season.

Lion 18 March 2013 10:14 AM

Art, those pictures are fantastic.....love to see plants of all types in bloom!!!

Hey Rodentman, sorry to hear of your pending storm...maybe it won't be as bad as predicted. Lot's of times here they speak of doom and gloom with the weather report and it doesn't materialize!!!

Lisa, "ya'll" are brave to put tomato plants out so early...did you save some which are still indoors.....just in case???

Take it easy.....Leo

I don't think I could have even a short conversation without using the word 'y'all'. I don't know how y'all live without it.:chuckle:
How y'all doin'? Where y'all going? See y'all later. See, I can barely form sentences without it.

Remember all your daughter has to do is give you "that smile".....and you are going to melt and cave in!!!
