Cool job -- wrong bird.

My first job after college was working in strategic planning for Sikorsky Aircraft so I'm a bit biased.

i see many, not all, anesthesiologist drag their asses in the ER. demanding this and that without properly introducing themselves as who they are. some forget that theyre in the ER, not the OR. big difference.

believe me, when we can do without them. we do. just in those off the wall cases where we need one, we'll still have to wait awhile for them to arrive...asses dragging.

both my parents are anesthesiologists...so i agree that your comments seem to generalize too much. the problem isn't with the dr's so much as the business of running a hospital short-staffed. mt. sinai here in NYC is exactly that - a business before an institution providing good healthcare.

i digress...:banme:

I read through this thread and noticed there are quite a few Engineers here in the US. Long story short, as mentioned earlier I am a headhunter & I particularly specialize in recruiting Engineers (All perm work, very little contract). If any of you ever find yourselves in need of a career change please don't hesitate to contact me via PM. 95% of everyone I recruite involves a relocation so it doesn't really matter what state you live in if you have the background my clients are in need of.
I cover everything from entry level Engineering positions up to Sr. Executive & Plant Manager roles. Excellent clients as well
Finance folks I always keep an eye out for you as well (CPA's and Auditors a big +++)

I'm a research scientist focusing on the neurobiology of motivational systems and identifying how alcohol and other drugs of abuse impact those systems to promote enhanced drug-seeking and consumption. With this knowledge, we are trying to develop pharmacotherapies for treating alcohol and drug addiction.

How are you finding the SD James? How's the weight and feel of the watch? I know you had a Kobold Seal back when we met earlier this year. Is the SD one of the heavier pieces you've worn? Just curious,

Chris

I used to walk out to a large can that they had filled with very explosive fuel, get into it, then light two very large blowtorches, and then, by gosh, lifted it up into the air, with passengers!!! ( ex-airline guy)

Olah, Chris. Long time, no chat. Love the SD. Feels and weighs great on the wrist. I definitely find the SD to be a heavy watch, but it's very balanced, so rests comfortably on the wrist.

I'm a cardiologist...I wear whichever watch will go with my attire for the day. The SS Sub Date seems to go best with scrubs...the TT doesn't look the best IMHO. In procedure my watch never leaves my side...always in the left from pocket behind the lead.

I would but... that kinda conflicts with the 'one-man-band' concept, methinks.

Great question, Ron! Interesting to find out more about the folks on here ... it's impressive we have an actual watchmaker on here from Rolex!

I'm an attorney for families dealing with elderly or mentally incompetent adults. I also do commercial litigation for several construction suppliers and custom home builders ... oftentimes, when I uncover abuse of those who cannot protect themselves (financial or physical), oftentimes from their trusted advisors or family members, I go kick their butt.

I am a Rolex newbie, having just gotten a SD from my wife on our wedding day. I love it, and the craftsmanship and history are amazing. I wear mine to work and get compliments on it from other WIS-folks. I don't generally wear it in court because I'm sort of an "anti-gucci-loafer" and don't want to be placed in that mold when people are making judgments on appearances.

I did have to send my SD out for service after only a month since it was gaining so much time (about 40 sec/day). After 3 weeks, I got it back, and I intend to upload pics from that experience. Let me tell you, the Rolex name just isn't about craftsmanship, it's about service ... they zeroed this thing right in, no charge, and with the highest degree of professionalism. Only thing I wished for was results of what they found and what they did, but that's only because I'm also OCD and insatiably curious.
