Oh, yes, Ashley. Pen-a-lope. Me, too! And Sean was "seen."
And, Joe - think of Phoebe Snow. You gotta know who she is, and if you don't, then think of the Erie Lackawana Railroad. They had a train named the Phoebe Snow. Truthfully, my kid is named after a train. I've heard Phoebe's name pronounced "Fo-Bee," "Fobe," "Fo-eeb," and so on. But I promise, I wasn't trying to come up with a complicated name. It's old as dirt, really. A Greek goddess had that name, I believe. I just liked the way it looked in print. Carolina, did you see any good fireworks tonight? |
Lisa, Sean is a good one too! I always thought it was "Seen." I was wondering why there were so many stupid names out there :chuckle:
And lol at Fo-Eeb! |

 It took me a LONG time to convince myself that "Sean" wasn't actually "seen". We saw some great fireworks tonight! Extra great, because this was the first time we could watch them without someone crying, or running away (ears covered)!:thumbsup: |

I have to share a little giggle.
I was in the bathroom helping Phoebe brush her teeth with her new braces.... suddenly heard what sounded like a rapidly approaching car speeding to our house - tires screeching - and then a VERY LOUD explosion. Yikes! We scuttled to the living room to find David standing in a daze, the TV remote in his hand. "Damn it!" he said. Seems he had nodded off on the couch while watching some movie, and as his head slumped over, his noggin settled on the Up Volume button on the remote. Happened to be a car chase scene at the time.:chuckle::chuckle: |

Phoebe liked the bands once she got over the soreness. Much better all around than the palate expander, which looked a lot like a torture device. I remember the pics of you when you got your braces off - what a dazzling smile and I know it had to feel wonderful! |

This is random I know, but in a different thread a while ago we were discussing how we pronounced names when we were younger. I just remembered the name that bothered me the most as a kid, and it's "Penelope." I always thought that it was "pen-elope." Did we already discuss this name? :chuckle: If we did, my bad, but I just saw an advertisement with it and it still bugs me to this day because I thought that "pen-elope" was the stupidest name ever :dummy:
