This is what you'll wake up to each morning. Taken by 8 year old Phoebe last night, after she had done my hair for me. Not one iota of makeup, either. Anything for a giggle:clap:

But seriously, folks. Here's the piano. I've ordered some vintage glass coasters for the wheels.

Nice piano! I was wondering why this thread was dying!

Gorgeous piano, Lisa! Enjoy it!!

p.s. It's really sweet that you let your daughter do your hair. I used to do my moms too!

Sunny, warm, slight breeze, water temp at 86F and with a neighbor who is crazier than a loon.:chuckle:. Just had all the decks redone and I now am a true redneck. The trailer is 1,500sf and I have over 6,000sf in decking.

Show some pics! I want to see that!

Lisa 13 August 2008 02:21 AM

Morning, everyone. Here are some kinda cruddy pictures of a picture I found at our neighborhood antique shop. I've been looking for a year for the ideal oil painting to put above our fireplace. It had to be old, big and cheap. This is circa 1940, and we got it for $165. It's signed "Hurst" but I have no idea who this is, any more than I have any idea about paintings in general. I figure for an original oil that is well done and the right size, we couldn't go wrong. It's also in the original frame. Sorry for the picture quality. I don't know how to photograph a painting!

Other than naked women pictures I have no idea about paintings. That one does look nice and I like the frame. I also you it was painted the same year I graduated from reform school.:chuckle:

Graduated?

One of those high-standards reform schools, I see.:dummy::dummy:
"All right, Young Bubba, we have reasonable expectations that you will continue to be a danger to yourself and to others. However, if you can find a way to channel your energies in a positive manner, or at least find a way to not get caught, you may have a shot at a somewhat productive life. May the good lord have mercy on any who cross your path. Case dismissed."

That almost sounds like a good wedding vow!:dummy::chuckle:

Carolina 13 August 2008 03:08 AM

Lisa, I like it - and it works. It reminds me of a couple of paintings my grandparents used to have in their living room. I mean that in a good way - my grandfather like to collect art and was always going to the local auctions.

That's kind of our standard - if grandma would've had it in her house, it's for us. We're on the hunt next for a new sofa and chair - but those won't be antique-ey. The old leather sofa is finally getting holes worn in it - Dave says soon we'll haul it to the basement. I think he's delusional about it fitting in there amid all the "stuff," though!

You can store a lot of stuff on a sofa. I know from experience.

You two are cut from the same cloth. A drop cloth.:dummy::chuckle: Does a sofa hold as much as a dining room table?
