DateJust 41...too dressy for daily wear?

1 Attachment(s)
I have many watches, but my first Rolex. Always thought I would have a GMT or Sub first, and this was a Christmas gift, and I love it. It is a classic to me, even in 41mm. What do you all think as an everyday watch, though. It seems very dressy, and as I have my own office, and almost retired, it's jeans and t-shirts for me, lol. Cheers!

It's your watch. Enjoy it as YOU like.

Slimpee 14 January 2021 09:57 AM

Yes, you can wear it every day.

It's a dope watch and looks good dressed up or down. Do your thing with confidence!

Goes with anything, IMO
Congrats

I think it’s to dressy. A Oyster bracelet would’ve given it more versatility. The Oyster gives it a casual/dressy appearance in my opinion.

Almost all Rolex pieces are very versatile. I used to wear my Datejust with hoodie and jeans.

I'm a sucker for the TT Jubilee bracelet though

i have DJ in diamond dial, i wear them daily, in the office and outing adventure even i wear tshirt and slippers.

Andad 16 January 2021 04:19 PM

It’s just a watch and a nice model.

Enjoy wearing it.

LuVitt 17 January 2021 09:00 AM

You 100% can wear it casually, it actually works better that way.

I usually wear my Datejust 41 Fluted on Jubilee when I'm just wearing jeans and a T or even with sweatpants.

There is something elegant about wearing a nice "flashy" watch when you are dressed down and vice versa, when I am dressed up I go for a true dress watch - something on a strap.

The Datejust is the most versatile watch and my favorite of all time.

#1 Rule - do your thing and enjoy it!!

Congrats on the watch.

alwaysontime0 17 January 2021 09:11 AM

IMO, not too dressy. It can easily be worn casual or dressed up, I’d even rock a Day Date on the daily!! Own it [emoji1303]

Timeless versatile piece

StevePirates 25 January 2021 11:03 AM

Not too dressy at all. That’s a watch that goes with anything.

Jster 25 January 2021 11:11 AM

Are you kidding me? It beautiful. Wear it as often as possible.

timeandtravel 29 January 2021 02:32 PM

very nice - I just ordered this watch for my dad exactly as you have it but with a white dial as he specified. I tricked him and told him I was gonna build him a "custom seiko" and sent him different pictures of datejust combinations and he picked out the bracelet and dial combinations =)

What color is your dial?

I saw the datejust in two tone gold and steel with silver dial and fluted bezel with oyster bracelet and I thought it was so classy and elegant..quite a stunner! If I wasn't waiting to buy my first Submariner, I would go for that datejust...just don't have unlimited funds lol

Great watch. Wear it and enjoy.

A Rolex in my opinion is the most versatile watch brand in existence. The date just is a sports watch for daily wear as well as a formal piece for weddings.

brandrea 30 January 2021 10:38 PM

It’s a great combo and it’s popular for a reason ... you can wear it anywhere / anytime.:2:

Enjoy it:cheers:

Not at all. Beautiful piece dressed up or down

Boney3147 5 February 2021 09:15 AM

I thought the same thing when I first got one, but have worn it with everything. Enjoy!

If I own a Datejust, I would wear it Mon-Fri daily basis.......it's a versatile watch

NatiLad79 15 February 2021 04:25 AM

I think you should be able to pull that off for daily wear

That does look fantastic.

My view though - I have a SS DJ on Jubilee, and it too dressy for all scenarios.

Suit/smart casual - looks great.

For proper casual and outdoor type clothes, it just looks out of place because it is a dressy watch.

I have added a LV sub for this reason, before pandemic I wore a suit everyday, but have not been into the office since last March.

Great look with jeans and t-shirt.

GoingPlaces 6 March 2021 12:07 AM

All time classic. Wear with anything.

deezee 6 March 2021 12:53 AM

Datejust all day. Every day.

Jay18 6 March 2021 03:25 AM

Doesn’t look to dressy to me. Enjoy it!

Ditto, enjoy it whenever and wherever you please.

59_Burst 31 March 2021 01:43 AM

I wear my DJII blue stick all the time- never feels that dressy to me.

wjed 19 May 2021 01:49 AM

Datejust is a perfect everyday watch

WatchLuxe 10 July 2021 11:47 PM

That watch dresses up jeans/T-shirt and becomes the focal point of the outfit...IMO

Wear it everyday without fail for a month. Then decide if you feel it is too dressy for certain occasions going forward. My guess is that you will get used to seeing it on in all situations and will feel totally comfortable with it. Great watch. Enjoy it to the max.

tramplejericho 21 July 2021 10:05 PM

I wear this in shorts and t-shirt although not every day as I rotate with other watches… so no, not too dressy.

I think Datejusts are perfectly versatile to wear as a daily

brnalkn 31 July 2021 03:44 AM

All Rolex models, except Cellini, are suitable for every style and everyday wear.

All times are GMT +10. The time now is 09:49 AM.
