smaller PAMs?
 

hey guys i have been cursed with wrather small wrists, not toooo small but just small enough that the larger pam's can look kinda goofy. i was looking at the PAM 48 and some of the 40mm watches. does anyone have any input on the 40mm models? and about the movement in the 48? oh and also is it still the 24 lug width or 22? any info would be great! thanks guys!

go for a pocket watch....you can easily go 58MM if you don't mind wearing vests with huge, deep pockets...

What is your wrist size?

I have a 40mm and while I want a 44mm, I am very happy with my 244. I was selling it awhile back because I was not wearing much because of the GMTIIc.

Okay, I definitely go against the grain on this one. I have a 6.5"+ wrist. My 40mm Panerai (which is the PAM 48) is the biggest I can imagine going. I know the coolest styles and straps come in the 44mm. I also know that guys who wear the 44mm - even those with small wrists - get used to wearing them. However, IMHO, it doesn't change the fact that they are out of proportion for an average to smaller sized wrist. Unless you want to look like you are a r-e-a-l-l-y trendy guy and/or someone who wants a lot attention to his wrist, I'd stick with the 40mm if you have smaller wrists. I have a conservative job and run in conservative circles. I feel like I'm pushing it with even the 40mm. Personally, I think my Explorer II, which isn't a small watch, fits my wrist much better than my 40mm Panerai. Can't imagine going even bigger than the 40mm Panerai.

No one has ever drawn too much attention to my 44mm watch. If your uncomfortable wearing it is one thing.

Dude, everybody on this board will tell you that 44 is not the way to go as its not true to Panerai. I TOTALLY DISAGREE with this logic. Its like saying that because i want a 40 mm Rolex i am not being true to the original iconic Rolexes like the Explorer I which is 36mm. (pre 2010 basel). A man with a 6in wrist looks IMHO ridiculous with 44 pam on. You have to buy things that you like and it doesnt matter unless you have a re sale value concern. The 40s dont do a well because of the feeling out there that is perpetuated by the public as it is less iconic. If you are into fashion, then all of the trends are heading back to smaller watches...not small like 34mm but not bigger than 40mm. With that said, buy what you like but here is a good example... I tried on a 44 at Tourneau and the saleslady knows me and also knows that I was ready to buy and she said "Dude it looks too big" , and she only had 44s in the case. Tourneau is notorious for trying to sell watches just to make a sale and if SHE told me that it looked bad and she was about to make alot of money off of the sale, then you know it looked ridiculous. Just my 2cents. What is really funny is that a 40 looks really big on a 6in wrist so everyone will think its a 44 anyway if that any consolation. I have a 40 and thats what happens to me. LOL!!!
