116610 LN or 116610LV
hello
I'm new to this forum, I am planning to buy my first rolex as a prize to get my degree in architecture next year. my choice is submariner, but I have not decided whether black or green, and explained why: this is probably my only Rolex in my life, the dilemma is: buy a classic as the black sub, or something more outstanding and captor of looks like Green sub. thank you very much for your advice. |
Go black, will work with anything..
|
You need to get to an AD and try both on. That's the only way you'll know which watch appeals to you the most.
|
Why not get them both:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I would buy black. Personally, I think the green will go out of fashion.
|
go BLACK cause once you go Black you'll never turn back...:P

You just need to try them both, and go for one that suits you better.
I never tried any of them, but on pictures I prefer green one. Welcome to TRF!:cheers: |
Any size difference?

Try them both on and see which one sings to you the most.

Black matches with most items of clothing!

Black is timeless classic, but I like the LV because it is different.
|
As I have both the green is def. my favorite however this being said I would NOT buy the green as my only watch. The green does stand out quite a bit more than the balck even though the dial looks darker in different light.
I would go with the black and add the green in the future:thumbsup::thumbsup: |
As others have said, if it's going to be your one & only, I would definitely recommend black.
|
Go with the black sub. You won't be disappointed.

I saw amajor display of Rolex divers and flighers yeasterday and my eyes kept being drawn back to the LV-C as it really stood out. It was positioned next to a LN-C.

If its going to be the watch you're going to wear every day for years to come then go with Black (standard issue) - its on my list for 2011!! Good luck with your studies and good luck with your choice of Rolex.

I have the black dial on my tt Sub-C.
I looked at various watches for, literally, years before I got mine. Black, as noted in previous posts, goes with everything. If you wore a generic brand green watch to a formal occasion, I doubt how "put together" you'd look to the other attendees. Even if it were the Rolex, most of them would not be devotees such as those of us here in the Forum and recognize it for what it is. I would submit most people aren't even aware Rolex makes a watch in green. IMHO, the green is a fad of sorts whereas the black (and blue) dial will be in demand for years to come. It's a classic for a reason (and not because I bought one). And, I recognize I am off-putting those who have the green dial. What I've written is simply my highly biased opinion, not a fact. Good luck in your search. You are very fortunate to be able to get one in either case. Happy New Year and best of health to all of you. |
if this is going to be the watch on your wrist 7 days a week then black
if this is your weekend watch then green hope that helps! oh and good luck on this being your only rolex ;) that's what we all said |

I fell in love with the tt sub c blue originally from photos only. but once I saw both the black/blue side by side and on my wrist - black won! |
I only have two now, a green and my daytona.. I wear the green 24/7 its awsome.
|
BLACK .. all time classic ..
|
the green is stunning! was disappointed when I saw the black one. But the advice seems to be go for the black. You need to try both on. My heart would say green, my head black
