Reluming a 168000

I have a 168000 that I have owned for the past 24 years - The watch is in near perfect condition. The dial looks near perfect - the only flaw is a crack in the tritium on the 12 marker

The tritium still glows faintly but the Omega 2534.5 I recently purchased has me longing for better lume on the Sub which is the watch I wear most

I do not want to relume the original dial as one day this watch will be passed onto my son or maybe one of his future kids (he is still only 7)

The lume on the original dial has the white gold surrounds - It appears the dial for a 16610 would be the replacement I want as they used SL at one point and appear to be the same otherwise

Is my thinking correct? Also what is a good source - I find the occasional one on Ebay but a little slow to pull the trigger on one as they are not cheap and are of unkown source to me.

You are on the right track, the dial for a 16610 should fit the 168000. There are a couple of sellers here & on other forums that can source a super luminova dial & hands for you, just do a quick search in the For Sale section & place a WTB in the WTB section & I think you will be fine.
