Citizen.... purchase debate

I'm no watch expert, but have had my eye on this for a little while:

Eco-Drive Chrono. WR100..

I know a lot of people here must know their stuff, and at least have some decent appraisal skills, so I am wondering if this would be a foolish investment or not? I know it's not Rolex caliber, but at this stage in my life I don't mind throwing a little over half a grand on a watch, but would rather spend 20K on another automobile.

Looks like a nice watch. The only foolish investment is on something you don't like.

Ok, I'll plan on getting one later on this year, first I have another I want to get out of the way.

I was thinking on ordering from wristwatch.com, since they seem to have quite some discounts from the suggested retail. However, I'm a little worried that they are selling things TOO cheap, and not sure yet if that means I could end up with a fugazy.

Other than that, I'll still keep browsing over the Citizen line. I was never much a fan of them, but noticed all the pawn shops in town seem to go crazy over them, more-so than any other brand, so they must retain some decent value.

You said investment...
It is not an investment. Its a watch to buy to wear
if you like it and it will make you happy... It will NOT
hold value but no mass produced Asian watch does.
No watch should be purchased as an investment even
Rolex, Patek etc...

If you like it and are going to wear it Id say it would be
a good purchase for you

Hmm, maybe it's time to stop the presses. This one has caught my fancy as well...

Damnit! Sears is having a 30% sale on most their Citizens right now. Unfortunately they don't have the discount on the FLIGHT CHRONOGRAPH! Murphy's Laws.

But, I may just grab the Skyhawk then. I have a couple days to make up my mind.

Took a look today in a store at my first suggestion. They had it right there, at 30% off, and I was ready to buy it too. The thing is also much more heavy than I thought it would be (but im not complaining).

Problem is it's got all the bells & whistles, except for two basics which I want.
1. Alarm.
2. Light.

So... looks like I'll probably pick up a SkyHawk in a couple days instead.

oh...its funny as a lot of those complicated looking eco-drives have alarm atleast...best of luck on the purchase.
