following up, in case others have the same issue, i saw in the "feedback" section that you have to go through the "front door" instead of the "back door" to clear up the photo problem.....the front door is blocked at work for me, but not on my iphone. :thumbsup:

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I really like this strap- sorry I don't know which model it originally comes with- but I do have to say that it's super soft and velvety feeling despite how thick and "crackly" looking it is...
