Sub on Bund, Yay or Nay? Heavy Pics included

I always thought a Sub on a leather strap was a big no no. The bund strap seemed to be tailored for the Daytona and not the Sub. But then I tried it on and must say its quite comfortable and with the right outfit and of course the right mood the bund strap can be really enjoyable.

Shame I do not own a Daytona at the moment, Sub will have to do :cheers:

Custom and hand made from Cordovan Leather by Attila. :thumbsup:

"Bund" and "Cobra"

Thanks for looking.

I think it looks good! However the bunds are too big for my wrist, I like the look though. :thumbsup:

Racer X 24 May 2011 02:50 PM

I'd have to see more wrist shots David. Not sure I like the look off the wrist. Maybe they look better when worn?

adt 24 May 2011 02:57 PM

I say YAY.

Its all about mixing and matching depending on mood...after all, if you're not diving, its okay!

arabesque 24 May 2011 03:00 PM

Those are very nice looking watches.

I don't think leather and water go together very well. Nato will give the watches more utilitarian look I would imagine.

Just my ignorant opinion.

TurboWatch 24 May 2011 04:59 PM

Love the watches

love the straps. However, they are tooooo big for the watches and your wrist. The perfect strap should complement your watch, to show off those beautiful patinas, and the DRSD writtings. I like the old style bunds much better.

sleddog 24 May 2011 05:12 PM

The bunds are a personal choice I think...
They do look good, but I'd hate to have them on in a hot and humid climate.

Love the DRSD David!:agree::thumbsup:

HL65 24 May 2011 06:58 PM

I think they look great David and make for a great change up from time to time. Nothing is permanent with straps!!

dddrees 24 May 2011 07:06 PM

Looks good, just gives it a different look.

I agree that the cobra strap is huge on me that is why I purchased the smaller bund strap. I have a small wrist but I think I can still pull it off...barely :)

Yay, but not for me.

dalip 25 May 2011 01:33 AM

You certainly can pull it off David....:thumbsup:

Look good IMO...and nice for a change:cheers:

Love the DRSD David!:agree::thumbsup:

Thanks gentlemen I figure strap changes are cheaper than buying more watches...:rofl:

YetiBiker 25 May 2011 01:39 AM

:thumbsup: David. Those Atilla straps are super comfortable.

Dr. Robert 25 May 2011 01:42 AM

I dig them, very 60's-70's, a very cool look.:thumbsup:
(I've heard lots of good things about Attila's straps....I wonder if he's related
to Attila the Hun?):thinking::twit:
They are very cool........where are your bell-bottom jeans, Frye boots & fringed suede jacket?:smokin:

As long as you like it, it does not matter what other people think!

I definitely like it better on the wrist. I agree that it's good to change things up, and you are certainly right that changing to a strap is cheaper than buying a new watch!

Racer X 25 May 2011 01:52 AM

Another thought: the bund might look really good with contrasting stitching like you see in the interiors of some sports cars. I have a black interior and coarse white stitching and it looks really nice. Maybe white, cream, or pale yellow stitching would go well with the dials. :thumbsup:

Thanks Dalip, Vijay and Robert I agree that the bund provides a unique vintage touch and the comfort is excellent. :cheers:

Dave I never thought about that what a great idea. Attila custom makes these straps so I imagine he could provide that service. Yellow stitching with the 7016 would be magically delicious :cheers:

I agree-- nice look. I'd like to see the same watches on Attila's smaller width version. He makes one that is still Bund styling but not as wide under the watch head.

That would easily change my views on the straps methinks. But if it looks good to you, it looks good to everyone.

speedo 26 May 2011 08:09 PM

absolute yay from me.

btw, attila is a very common name in hungary and the guys family name is hungarian too.

dsio 26 May 2011 08:22 PM

I bought a $26 ebay bund and the look was not what I hoped for. I think quality matters as mine just doesn't sit as nicely at all.
