Help on Rolex Precision
 

I have a Rolex Precision ref 6694. As I unscrewed the crown to wind the watch the whole thing was pulled off when I pulled on it. What could have been damaged?

either not screwed in properly at the set lever screw or you broke the winding stem i would say, but maybe some real experts can tell you as i am not a qualified watchmaker, i have just learnt from my years collecting and expereince having experienced the same problem a few times and from what my watchmaker friend told me was my problem.

Does the stem part that you have in your hand appear to be broken? If you have a magnifier or lupe you should be able to see it quite clearly. I suspect the set screw worked loose and it may be a simple repair.

Most likely the set screw on the set lever is loose or broken. To repair take the back off reinsert the stem and crown and tighten the screw if it doesn't tighten it is broken so dial comes off to get to the set lever to remove the rest of the broken screw. It is a job for a watchmaker. Rikki

There is a lot of RUST on the stem. There is more than likely RUST in the movement. Send it to Rik.

Yep, It doesn't look broken, but send it away for a cleaning and repair. That is a nice vintage watch and hopefully only a service/cleaning and reattachment of the stem is all that is needed.
