Shark skin straps....waterproof? or, just "more durable"?
 

okay, silly question i suppose, but, hey, whaddya going to do? :chuckle:

are shark skin straps considered waterproof? as in, you can take them swimming (even in salty water) no problem, or, is that something to avoid?

I asked Dirk about his "sharkies" and he responded that they are not really made for water. Maybe a bit more durable but the lined leather will determine its life.

I love them on a vintage feel piece..

I guess the only ones real waterproof are the shell cordovans, made form horse hides
