Would a 40mm Pam be too big on my wife's 5.5inch wrist?

:cheers:I'm trying to tempt my wife into going to the dark side. However I had never had an opportunity for her to try one on. Can somebody advise whether it's too big for her? Any wrist shots with 5.5" wrist or less?

Cheers and many thanks!

brkanand 11 November 2012 11:14 PM

Yes.

But if she wants to make a fashion statment with this PAM on her wrist, be that as it may!

mfer 12 November 2012 07:13 AM

No, it'll be fine. The 40mm luminors wear small. 5.5"

A lot depends on wrist shape, body size/height and personal style, but, it could work. 42mm Rad could be an option, too.

i honestly really like how 40-44 luminors/45 Rads on women who have the small wrist!

My wife wears my 000 and she would have wrists around that size. Just need to get a shorter strap and ideally one where the holes perfectly line up so she can wear it with a snug fit. Otherwise might flop around too much.

I see a lot of girls wearing Daytona(40mm) and it looks great on their wrists. I think 40mm Pams are probably slightly thicker but with the right gators strap(more shape and hold), it should work ok!

That looks ok...It is almost too big but you can tell it's "fashionably LARGE" and the pink strap adds to that.

I'm surprised I don't mind that....

I'm curious to know if the 40mm Daytona and 40mm Pam are of the same size. I'm just hoping that the 40mm Pam wears smaller since my wife cannot pull off my Daytona.

I would think a Daytona would wear smaller than a Panerai...both being 40mm....

johnbeth 12 November 2012 02:38 PM

She can only try and see what it looks like. It might look sexy on her!

And I don't mind "Fashionably Large" too...just don't want to give the impression of "Ridiculously Large"

bcacncnc 12 November 2012 03:05 PM

Oh for sure the Daytona is much slimmer on the wrist than the 40mm PAMs.

I think it's a good look on most women.
Depends on if she likes wearing a larger watch.

Having seen a PAM 48 on a petite lady's wrist, I would say it will be just fine

Yes, her wrist is 5.5".

Also, 40mm Rolex wear much larger for her. Yes they are thinner but the lugs don't hug her wrist like the Panerai do. The 40mm luminors wear very small IMHO as a result. If you got this route, you'll need to get the ladies sized OEM strap. 98/68 if I recall.

Hi Halim. Here are few pics I snapped this morning. Haven't actually measured her wrists but would guess it would be around 5.5 inch too.

Hi Bryan, thanks for the pics! Looks like a Pam 48 is on the radar for my wife!

I think PAMs look really sexy on women... also saw a Daytona on a lady recently - also looked very nice! :dude:

pacifichrono 13 November 2012 03:57 PM

It would be a definite eye-catcher...and NOT too big.

Go for it!

DolphinV8 14 November 2012 03:28 AM

40mm PAMs have become so popular for women in Asia in the last few years. My wife loves her 49. If she wants a 40mm Rolex, try Milgauss GV which is my wife's new favorite watch. She also has a back SS Daytona and 35mm plat YM.

davedewalt 14 November 2012 03:32 AM

I've tried to get my wife to put one into rotaion but she thinks they look to "cartoonish" on her tiny wrists...I think a woman with one strapped on is sexy as hell. She wears her small stainless DJ and complains of its heft from time to time as well.
