Sacrilege?

Well, much as I think the DSSD strap is a work of art, I've always thought it would look good on leather. So for an early Christmas present to myself I've attached a Toshi leather strap in Shell Corcoran - I think it makes the watch much easier to wear casually.
Why do I feel guilty removing that beautiful steel strap though? :nono: |

I think you are on the right track. I like a strap for a change but I don't think that one is the right strap for the watch. It looks a little small. Maybe a thicker or wider strap would suit the watch better.

Looks ok but not as good as the oyster IMO
|
As long as you like it is all that matters right?
|
Does'nt look right !

Well I guess it's not to everyone's taste and I value other peoples opinion, especially on this forum!
I must admit that I don't feel comfortable wearing it with a suit and tie anymore - it clashes. That said, I do feel it goes better with jeans and tee shirt. And I still love the watch! |
Looks good

If u like it that's all that matters! I prefer the oyster bracelet though. Maybe consider purchasing a used older sub to wear with a strap...those tend to look pretty good off of the oyster bracelet and can be picked up for a "small" price relative to your deepsea

If you got that strap in black you would have been in at least the right direction...

black leather dye ,, just a thought. although i think bigger lugs are hard to get the right strap to match.

I fell in love with the Toshi straps. Virtually that is...
I will receive my Toshi on Jan 10. It is black with black stitches and it will go a newly serviced 1978 sub 1680. It is conservative and my trial band. For the reasons stated above, I will keep my GMT IIc stock so that I can wear it at work with a suit. I'll post pictures when installed. |
